Duties and Responsibilities include; but are not limited to :
Carry out duties and responsibilities of a legally appointed MHS Act Reg. 2.17.1 Safety Officer for Enaex Africa operations on mine premises when required.
Carry out duties and responsibilities required by any other relevant legal appointment in terms of MHS Act, OHS Act appointment and other SHE Legislation.
Develop and support execution of SHE plans, with operations being the ultimate accountable team to implement and maintain SHE plans.
Ensure that work activities and focus areas are in line with the Enaex Africa SHE game plan, SHE STI, and the client’s objectives and targets.
Facilitate the identification of occupational SHE hazards, risks, key undesirable events, applicable Life Saving Rules and the associated preventive and corrective controls.
Facilitate SHE Risk Assessments with operations teams, and enable the implementation of controls within Operations (e.g.
baseline, continuous and issue based)
Help support the Implementation and co-ordination of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 initiatives and systems.
Facilitate the execution of risk based workplace occupational safety, health and environment improvement interventions.
Identify non-conformances and support operations with the best practices which can be used to close off actions.
Conduct focused safety health environment inspections and SHE audits
Conduct risk based assurance audits with focus on group and critical controls for top KUEs and for site high risks.
Qualification and experience Required :
3-year qualification in the SHE disciplines- BSc Hons / BEng / BTech (Must)
Three years relevant experience, preferably in mining and / or explosives industry
The candidate must be medical fit to work on mines (underground and / or open cast)
The candidate must a valid drivers licence and willing to travel.
