A well-known and established chemical raw materials company requires the above to establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current and prospective key accounts within Gauteng as well as to generate new business within the industry.

Minimum requirements for the role :

  • Minimum matric is essential.
  • Previous sales experience calling on manufacturing industries / food manufacturers is essential.
  • Must have sold to business to business markets.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
  • Must be fast-paced, results and sales driven.
  • Ability to build and foster client relationships is essential.
  • Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Managing senior key accounts within the food manufacturing industries, developing and implementing key account plans and strategies to ensure sales targets and objectives are on target.
  • Person will be working 90% in the food (food, beverage, bakery, etc.) industry and 10% in the industrial industry.
  • Ensuring quality customer service is provided to internal and external customers.
  • Participating and assisting in the development, approval and communication of new chemicals.
  • Ensuring that annual sales targets and objectives are achieved for financial year.
  • Monitoring market developments in order to identify and assess potential new customers and opportunities, developing marketing and business strategies.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships.
  • Implementing volumes and pricing objectives established with key account customers.
  • Building up market and competition knowledge by analysing market trends.
  • Managing and delivering on technical queries with regards to existing and new products.
  • Effectively implementing price increases and maintaining monthly / quarterly price lists to customers.
  • Identifying the sales opportunities and implementing strategies to target these.
  • Completing the weekly coverage reports.
  • Forecasting and price negotiations.
  • Managing the chemical biocide portfolio.
  • Responsible for tenders.
  • Handling account queries and credit applications.
  • Facilitating plant commissioning.
  • Facilitating sales from placement of order to delivery.
  • Devising and managing a working pipeline.
  • Salary package highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
