    The G Band DigitalArchitecture Lead role is based within Technology.

    The roleof the DigitalArchitecture Lead is to define, maintain and evolve the emergingarchitecture that enables the digital vision and business objectives,maximising the value of technology disruptions into current and futurecapabilities.

    This role is responsiblefor identifying, analysing, and directing the execution of change towards thedigital architecture vision and digital business vision, by providing andprioritising technical epics .

    The rolewill continuously assess, value and size initiatives to inform the larger CxOcommunity and drive decisions related to the development of architecturerunways across all Vodacom OpCos.

    Your responsibilities will include :

  • Managearchitecture vision and roadmap in alignment with the Digital Architectureblueprint from Vodafone Group. Create OpCo relevant blueprints as a key custodianof Vodacom Group Strategy and Architecture.
  • Overseeand lead the design, development, and deployment of digital architecture practices,standards, patterns and innovations.
  • Scoutnew technologies and vendors to enable innovation and identify technicalenablers.
  • Manageinnovation and establish the capability to monitor new technology developmentsand trends in the industry.
  • Providethought leadership on foundational digital architecture best practices anddisruptive technology trajectory and implications.
  • Definitionof long-term business, data and IT architecture strategy and roadmap.
  • Enterprisearchitecture governance in agile software delivery.
  • Definitionof integration APIs and ecosystem strategy.
  • Technologyinnovation : scouting, screening and evaluation.
  • Developper market blueprints across Digital experience, Big Data, Cloud, Robotics, AIdomains.
  • Overseethe implementation of new architecture capabilities across OpCos.
  • Ensurethat all target architectures conform to regulatory, legal and adheres to privacy by design principles.
  • Supportthe OpCos in developing and executing RFPs and in the selection of appropriateenabling technology.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will have :

  • Bachelor’s Degree orNational Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or other relatedfield.
  • Relevant experience in atleast three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technicalarchitecture, application development, middleware, information analysis,database management or operations in a multitier environment.
  • Five or more years’experience in strategic and operations planning and / or business analysis.
  • Extensive experience in ITstrategic planning and development.
  • Experience in leading largearchitecture teams in an agile context, operating and influencing effectivelyacross the organisation and within complex contexts.
  • Experience in businesscapability modelling and technical and solution architecture development in adigital business context.
  • In addition to the details listed above, the idealcandidate will have an in depth knowledge and understanding by having :

  • Estimationtechniques for scaled Agile approaches to the development of key targetarchitectures.
  • Web-scalecloud-native architectures including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
  • Designof infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
  • Designof web-scale architectures and systems of innovation and engagement.
  • DevOpspractices and automation tools.
  • Artificialintelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data technologies and architectures.
  • Trustedand respected as a thought leader and change agent who can influence andpersuade business and IT leaders.
  • Comfortable,experienced and accomplished at working with business executives, and able topush back in a professional and diplomatic way.
  • Excellentanalytical, technical, and problem solving skills, with high levels ofcreativity.

  • Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills, able to distil complex technicalconcepts into simple terms, with strong persuasion skills to gain support forprinciples, standards and change.
  • Excellentrelationship building, teamwork, and collaboration skills that enables theprovision of effective support and guidance across programmes.
  • Knowledgeof the Telecommunications and digital services market and emerging business andtechnology trends.
  • Vendorand technology neutral driven by long-term business outcomes rather thanpersonal preferences.
  • The baselocation for this role is Midrand, Corporate Park.
