Johannesburg Develop a technology roadmap for Digital Commercial Systems Lead Field Trials for DTH, DTT and IPTV Test decoder and CI CAM software and downloads and ensured that all infield base has got up to date software Resolve High-Level Technical faults on Company Products (Digital, Fiber Optic & IPTV Platforms) Work with STB manufacturers and business units on Decoder Repair Facilities establishment and accreditation Ensure decoder repair-path operational support Work with STB manufacturers on after sale support for all STB and related accessories Work with Africa business units on Installer and Systems Integrator Accreditation and subsequent QA Manage the repair cycle of all products distributed by Company Governance, Budget Management and Reporting

  • Set installer accreditation standards and ensure adherence thereof
  • Manage budgets and provide financial reports
  • Update and maintain all installation standards, processes and procedures
  • Provide timeous, accurate information to Senior Management on a regular basis to manage processes within the repair cycle and field service support People Management Oversee the activities of the team to ensure effective delivery of business outcomes.
  • Develop a high performing team by embedding formal Group Executive Head of Sales Senior Manager : Technical and After Sales performance management process.

    Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members. Motivate the team to deliver outstanding customer service Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed.

    Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met.

    When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from Human Capital when required. Resolve grievances raised by team members and escalate only if required.

    Address poor performance in the team through the formal Performance improvement programme and ensure that continued poor performance is appropriately dealt with.

    Manage, motivate and develop staff Skills and Experience Qualifications Essential :

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in IT / Computer Engineering or
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering
  • or similar qualification Experience
  • 5-8 years related experience in operations, planning, innovation and process improvement, years of senior management experience
  • Customer related industry and operations or transformation experience
  • Engineering background
  • Broadcast technology and equipment knowledge
  • Pay TV industry
  • Digital Television Systems Engineering
  • Technical understanding of key systems and interfaces
  • Company Product Knowledge
  • Fault Finding Procedures
  • Rest of Africa experience
