Our client offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions tailored for the South African entry-level market.

These solutions cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover and personal accident plans. The business consists of 63 sales branches and 106 client care offices, conducting business through over 400 brokers and 3 700 tied agents.

Description

  • Responsible for a management accounting function which may include planning, budgets and forecasts, interpreting financial results, monitoring cash flow, capital expenditure programmes, management reporting systems development, special investigations / reports, operating efficiency studies, feasibility studies and investment portfolios
  • Manage sales staff remuneration
  • Accounting of sales staff remuneration and related transactions
  • Provide finance input in various business wide projects that affect distribution and finance SLA
  • Sign off monthly audit file including AR’s, reconciliations and journals
  • Preparation of monthly management reports
  • Negotiate timelines and SLA for projects partners and internal departments
  • Budget and forecast of sales remuneration and manex
  • Provide input into development of management reports
  • Co-ordination of audit for internal and external auditors
  • Operational performance monitoring
  • Resolve escalated operational issues
  • Staff management and development responsible for team output, setting out of deadlines and managing staff performance
  • Analyse and interpret data in order to provide management information for decision making
  • Manage staff in line with company policy
  • Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric
  • BCom or CMA with 2 to 4 years related experience
  • Post-graduate qualification and articles will be advantageous
  • Three years’ experience in a Management Accountant and Project role with demonstrated management potential or management experience
  • Experience in the financial industry will be advantageous
  • Computer literacy MS Office Excel and Word advanced
  • Working knowledge of accounting package like Walker or other accounting packages
