WIP Limits of Portfolio and Program Kanban
Maintains physical Portfolio Kanban boards as well as electronic
Conducts periodic VS mapping exercises
Coordinates intake across Portfolio Kanban and Development VS Program Kanbans
Reports on Kanban metrics : Flow, Lead Time, Cycle Time, Development Values stream load / capacity
Inspect & Adapt for ARTs and SST
Facilitates SAFe training courses annually and coaches RTE’s and teams as needed

Influencer as this is a senior role, the RTE must be an advocate of the Lean Agile mindset and ensure the adoption of the SAFe framework and relevant principles at all relevant organizational levels.
Negotiator due to the servant leadership requirements of this role, the RTE must be able to successfully resolve any team and ART issues while minimizing the requirement to escalate beyond the team boundaries.
Understands that most things are not black and white. Negotiates with stakeholders to achieve an agreement that is palatable to all parties involved.
Assertive where necessary, the RTE will need to ensure adoption of, and adherence to the SAFe and related Lean-Agile principles as well as any other Dimension Data specific governance requirements.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification
Other current SAFe certifications (e.g. SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe for Teams, etc)
Work experience required
Lean-Agile experience is advantageous
Demonstrable planning experience.
Relevant Agile coaching experience.
Experience working in Agile approaches, practices and service-oriented environments : (Scrum, XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, Design thinking, etc.)
Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.
Demonstrable knowledge of product development in an ITC industry would be advantageous.
Deep grasp of the Scaled Agile Framework, solid understanding of budgeting concepts within a scaled agile environment
Understand fundamentals of iterative development.
Understand fundamentals of product / software development processes and procedures.
Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team.
Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
Be able to relate to, and integrate with alternate development methodologies (e.g. waterfall).
Be conversant in DevOps practises and understand strong relationship and bi-directional dependency required with deployment teams.
Significant experience managing multiple teams and product roadmaps.
