  • 1. Project Scope :
  • The Commercial Payment Solution project is an business led project that has been established to develop a new business offering for the Fleet customers by exploiting technology.

    The objective of this project is :

  • Develop a solution that will provide client with a competitive customer marketing and technology value proposition for the Fleet industry;
  • Enhance and expand the current Diesel Club (EDC) offering;
  • To co-create this solution with Commercial customers, Dealers, Retail and Commercial Business Partners, Sales and Marketing staff, IT and various technology service providers.
  • The end goal of this project would be to introduce a platform for clients Transport Portfolio. This portfolio should meet the requirements of all stakeholders including but not limited to Truck drivers, Fleet managers, Administrators, Dealers, internal staff, etc.

    The measures of success of the solution will be the time to market, cost, support, flexibility, ability to grow, change and adopt to new customer requirements, future revenue opportunities and adoption of the solution by our customers.

  • 2. Project specific Requirement
  • Our Client is looking for a senior project manager that has experience in managing projects that spans both Business and IT requirements.

    The project manager needs to co-ordinate and integrate the various role players, assist with developing the detailed business requirements and ultimate roll-out and implementation of the project.

    The project manager will be responsible to manage and co-ordinate the delivery of :

  • The project charter
  • An approved business case
  • Addressing the current EDC pain points and customer requirements
  • The project budget within the boundaries of the business case
  • The stake holder engagement plan and its implementation
  • Change management plan
  • The design and implementation of the solution
  • 3. General project manager requirements :
  • Deliver business and IT projects by applying project management best practice, templates, frameworks and governance, using the required methodology to assist business and IT to achieve their strategic goals.
  • Develop and deliver the change management required to ensure successful transition and adoption of the projects / initiatives.
  • Collect and verify business requirements and scope by creating a product breakdown structure using the original business case, to manage and control the project scope and cost to ensure delivery to the business case.
  • Ensure that the benefits realisation plan is handed over to the project sponsor at project closure.
  • Plan and control project activities and resources based on estimate durations and resource availability as negotiated with resource owners, to deliver projects on time and to meet business needs.
  • Perform and review quality assurance and delivery by implementing review / testing and system training processes across the project lifecycle to minimise disruption to production systems at / post go live thereby ensuring business continuity.
  • Communicate, interpret and adhere to Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) policies and Zero Tolerance (ZeTo) rules to ensure individual safety and that of others, safeguard business
  • Enforce the implementation of applicable procedures and guidelines and affect the compliance to statutory and legislative requirements to ensure conformance to the established Limits of Authority LOA) to safeguard clients interest, image and reputation.
  • Develop and implement distinctive mindset, behaviour and culture to achieve high work performance by adoption and implementation of value interventions, tools and methodologies to promote and instil high sense of commitment, ownership, integrity and loyalty that will contribute to operational excellence.
  • Communicate, interpret and champion the execution of policies and provisions of the Codes of Conduct & Business Ethics (COBE), Protection of Personal Information (POPI) and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), and undertake appropriate mitigation and / or intervention programmes to safeguard business operations, high staff discipline and industrial harmony.
  • 4. Project Timeline :
  • The requirement for the Project Manager is to start as soon as possible. The initial contract duration is for 12 months with the timeline to be reviewed once the Project Plan has been finalised and approved.

  • 5. Project Governance
  • This project is sponsored by the Commercial Business Division and is managed jointly between the Commercial Division and IT.

    The Project Manager will report to the monthly Project Steercom and operational reporting will be to the IT and Business Project Sponsors.
