Our client is currently seeking for a Senor Project Manager to lead the portfolios of the organisation's

projects on a professional project management basis, ensuring that projects are established and monitored to conclusion and that they deliver the expected value to the business.

Management of process improvement initiatives, issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful on-time and on-budget project delivery.

Duties :

  • Project Portfolio Planning
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to proactively identify project requirements and accurately forecast specific project requirements
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to gain an understanding of specific project needs and the project implementation environment, where this relates to current and future projects identified by line management
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues
  • Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
  • People Management
  • Manage planning of resource requirements, ensure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service delivery demands, maintain the effective and efficient capability of the project team.
  • Project Execution Oversight and Management
  • Manage and monitor all ongoing projects in terms of delivery and providing a PMO service delivery
  • Full project life cycle ownership : successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment.
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  • Manage project scope and changes and compile project implementation plan and PMO and submit for approval
  • Ensure that project risks and issues are Identified, escalated where necessary and mitigated by using strong governance frameworks and administrative practices
  • Chair project governance forums where designated and attend project meetings and discussion forums
  • Vendor and Service Provider Management
  • Plan, Lead and coordinate the procurement process around the appointment of vendors and service providers to assist the PMO with the execution of projects insofar as Project Management is concerned.
  • Establish relationships with suitable vendors and service providers for current and future projects
  • Identify, coordinate and establish mechanisms to drive enhanced value from project vendors and service providers
  • Project Governance
  • Setting up and management of the Project Management Office
  • Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities in the organisation.
  • Identify PMO Book of work
  • PMO Budget Management
  • Define PMO Budget
  • Control and monitor PMO budget
  • Minimum requirements

  • At least 8 years job-related experience , which should include 3 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Sound knowledge of project management with strong capabilities in the IT systems implementation environment.
  • Financial services background will be advantageous.
  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
  • Acknowledged Project Management Qualification
  • Project Management certification (Prince -2; PBBOK or equivalent) - (Advantageous)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus (Advantageous
