Procurement Manager is required for a Mining Company based in East Rand .

Requirements :

Minimum requirements / experience

  • National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related
  • 5 10 years experience as a Procurement Manager

  • Responsibilities :

  • Assist with long term business unit strategic plans
  • Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the supply chain functions and ensure compliance
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data required to formulate a strategic supply chain plan
  • Strategise, research, develop and review appropriate supply chain technologies, systems, processes and adopt best practices
  • Manage the procurement section and teams
  • Assess strategic sourcing opportunities through data gathering and analysis
  • Ensure pricing is within allowable cost budget
  • Manage the supplier evaluation process, approve new supplier applications, manage supplier database and identify improvement opportunities
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits and inspections
  • Conduct commodity value spend analysis to identify contract opportunities
  • Research the market to identify suitable suppliers and make recommendations
  • Establish the terms and conditions of new contracts (in conjunction with Legal Department)
  • Negotiate improved pricing with suppliers
  • Measure and monitor preferential supply chain spend as a percentage of total pend and make suitable recommendations
  • Ensure BBBEE compliance and compile BBBEE reports
  • Approve orders with suppliers for products and services required
  • Analyse historical ERP data to determine whether tender is justified and analyse tender scope of work
  • Compile and issue tender documentation (Scope of work, technical specs / drawings etc)
  • Shortlist potential vendors and invite to tender briefings (Conditions, plant visits, scope of work, deadlines etc)
  • Identify cost saving and cash conservation opportunities
  • Assist in preparing and managing the budget of the supply cha business unit
  • Manage individual and team performance
  • Monitor and evaluate team members against performance standards
  • Manage conflicts within the organisation and ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, time management, overtime, misconduct etc)
  • Mentor individuals to enhance the individuals knowledge, skills, values and attitudes
  • Measure customer satisfaction within the procurement section
  • Establish SHEQ requirements and objectives within area of responsibility
  • Comply to SHE standards in the work environment
  • Please note that this is a 6 months contract position based in Jet Park.
