Our client, a company in the agricultural industry situated in Stellenbosch , is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team.

Role objective :

  • Manage end-to-end financial process with qualify and efficiency whilst identifying cost saving initiatives.
  • Key responsibilities :

  • Bookkeeping to trial balance and monthly reconciliation.
  • Submission and completion of statutory returns (VAT and PAYE).
  • PAYE reconciliations via Easy File and E-Filing.
  • Workmen’s compensation submissions.
  • Preparation of salary schedules and payslips.
  • Management statements and accounts.
  • Various reconciliations (bank, salaries, debtors, and creditors).
  • Stock / inventory reconciliations.
  • SARS related queries.
  • Payments of suppliers, SARS, and salaries.
  • Preparation of asset register and reconciling the assets to the general ledger.
  • Filing of all supporting documents and assisting auditors with their queries.
  • Responsible for measuring and implementing financial controls to minimise business risk.
  • Assist with drafting, tracking, and reporting of budget.
  • Assist with cash flow planning.
  • Review financial statements and other financial data and make recommendations to management.
  • Identify and implement cost saving initiatives to improve company profitability.
  • Drafting of company specific financial reports to support operational efficiency.
  • Preparation of financial information for management / shareholders.
  • Assist Assistant Operations Manager / Managing Director with any other task.
  • Understand and adhere to the company’s operating procedure as well as health and safety procedures and ensure their team adheres to these.
  • Any other reasonable task required by company will be given to members of the target group.
  • Key Requirements :

  • B Com Accounting Degree / B Accounting Degree / Financial Degree or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a similar role.
  • Own transport.
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent excel proficiency.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Experience with Xero.
  • General :

  • This role reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Stellenbosch based.
  • The Financial Clerk reports to this role.
  • Starting date : As soon as possible.

    Salary offered : R25 000 R30 000 per month.
