About Healthcare and Digital Solutions B2BThe B2B team forms part of Discovery Health Systems and delivers business process integration within the Discovery group as well as to external organisations.
Key PurposeThe Java Integration Developer (Senior) will work closely with a passionate development team to design, develop and maintain Java based integration solutions for a dynamic multi-national company that sets the benchmark in its industry.
The role requires strong Java developers who understand and can apply the fundamentals of SOA- and OO principles and methodologies, in addition to having experience considering non-functional requirements including security and performance considerations.
The role requires a team player with the ability to work with both vertical and horizontal colleagues in formal and informal settings.
Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to : The successful candidate will be required to perform but not limited to the following key outputs in respect of the Healthcare and Digital Solutions B2B portfolio : Develop, test, deploy and maintain high quality applicationsAnalyse, maintain and enhance existing applicationsAssist with the production of technical specifications and designsPromote new technologies and share knowledge within the teamRecommend improvements to development processes, contribute to implementation plans, and assist in rolloutSupport, coach & mentor team membersTroubleshoot and isolate issues in a complex environmentQuality assurance of development / technical aspects of SDLCThe successful candidate must demonstrate the following competencies : Passionate about technology and developmentResults oriented with the ability to work under pressure and cope with multiple concurrent projects with changing priorities and deadlinesStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to deal with complexity and shift / translate between detailed- and high level requirementsSelf-starter who takes ownership and accountability, and is able to work with minimal supervisionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEducation and ExperienceMinimum IT degree level education (BCom or BSc in information systems or computer science)Minimum of 5 years experience in source code Java systems developmentJava EE and / or Spring framework knowledge and experience (including Spring Boot)Extensive Web service experience (RESTful & SOAP)Enterprise security concepts, e.
