This is a permanent mid-level role based at the Head Office in Cape Town City Centre.* Analyse current systems solutions and business requirements*o Interpret and provide input to translatebusiness requirements into business requirement definitions and specificationso Analyse and evaluate required system enhancementso Analyse existing systems and interfaces for modification / improvement purposes* Design new or enhanced systems to accommodate business needs*o Participate in the process design or re-design and translate business / user requirements / processes into less complexsystem designo Design less complex system enhancementso Change systems specifications based on testing problems / changing requirementso Design interfaces with other systemso Provide input to deployment plans based on designs* Testing of proposed solutions*o Develop system test plans for system and integration testingo Perform systems testing and integration testing, and feedback results* Participate in the implementation of new solutions to ensure successful integration into current environment*o Manage the creation and hand-over of the system administration procedureso Participate in the post-implementation reviews for completed projects* Support current solutions*o Resolve user querieso Ensure the stability of the existing systems environmento Provide input to programming support teamso Provide functional guidance* Collaborate with and support ITS and the Business*o Integrate with relevant business and IT teamso Provide system input to design of user training materialo Provide operational support to the business areao Provide knowledge transfer and support to team members* Create and maintain documentation*o Develop and maintain all relevant SDLC documentationo Document, publish and maintain system design (new system developments and enhancements) and all interfaces with other systems3 years IT degree / diploma3 -5 years relevant experienceMay be required to perform standby duties*Additional Criteria*Retail experience advantageousKnowledge of relevant methodologies (ability to translate business requirements into systems requirements)Microsoft SQL KnowledgeKnowledge of Woolworths IT landscape, including systemic understanding of key business linkages and dependencies Ability to research technology-related concepts, trends and best practices, and apply findingsLooks beyond symptoms to uncover root causes of problems to be solvedProactively approaches others to obtain missing informationPlans with a realistic sense of the time and resource demands involved, maintaining awareness of the interrelationships between own and other activities / projectMonitors and tracks progress to ensure delivery of all planned commitments, and keeps the appropriate people informedListens attentively and checks understanding of the message being received.
