Purpose of the Job To ensure efficient and effective utilization of the Refinery's production capability by developing optimum production business plans and targets, and analysing actual performance for improvement thereby enabling the Refinery to be a reliable, competitive and relevant supplier What you’ll be doing Description Proactively developing the annual 10 year refinery production plan and associated production targets by analyzing and evaluating the Refinery's capability to meet product demands and leverage opportunities to ensure the Refinery's contribution to Engen's PBT is maximized Measuring and analyzing key production indicators and report on overall refinery performance to update management committees and the Board on progress in meeting the business plan Project manage data input and validation of Refinery-wide data, perform in-house analysis of Solomon indicators and performance gaps so as to achieve and sustain optimum value through operational effectiveness and efficiency Creating an environment that is open to new ideas and feedback Exciting Challenges you might face in the role Applying your refinery processing knowledge to business planning economics to advance the organisation’s R2 goals Driving the business planning and economics KPIs monthly and business planning by collaborating with other roles in P&E, Refinery, Supply Chain Division and DBE Operate effectively, even when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear Be prepared to rotate to other roles at the same level within Planning and Economics, viz.
Product Planning role and Crude Planning roles What you’ll have done before : Baseline : At least 5 years’ refinery relevant experience at E(L) band level and looking for new challenges BSc or BEng (Chemical engineering) degree Deep knowledge of refinery processing and constraints Experience working with diverse teams to achieve results.
Already on the SKG 16 ACD programme Exceptional problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to deliver results with tight deadlines Advantageous : Currently enrolled or have completed a commercial or business degree Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity Advanced optimization skills or desire to acquire same Who You Are : You are comfortable working with specialized software and numbers You are an expert at converting technical knowledge to business results You are passionate about adding value to Engen at an integrated level You have built success based on collaboration across functions You have excellent communication skills You have a reputation for reputation for working under pressure and taking initiative Engen’s approved Employment Equity plans and targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
