Santam’s IT Claims & Procurement team is looking for an IT Dev Team Lead, who will be based at the Head Office in Bellville.
The incumbent will ensure that Santam’s Claims Legacy Administration System and associated applications are maintained and enhanced efficiently and effectively and that it meets the business needs.
The incumbent is further tasked with leading and engaging 3rd party vendors that forms part of the Claims Administration ecosystem. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Participate and give input to bespoke application development related to Claims Administration ecosystem.
Consult and give input in the provision of solution design, cost estimates and implementation timelines.
Ensure alignment of projects, change request and enhancements to target application architecture and enterprise solution
Assessment of the impact of application changes and releases and align to Guidewire System release processes.
Understand high level data flows between Claims Administration Systems and other applications
Work as a team member with Development Managers, Team Leaders and other technical staff (internal & external), to ensure application is implemented according to requirements
Identification of potential risks / issues and give input into the risk mitigation plans
Liaise with Product Owners on business requirements, system changes and delivery timelines
Respond to business requests for extensions, changes request to the solution or application.
Participates in solution design discussions, attend Solution Design Forums and give input from a Claims perspective
Participate in design reviews, regular architectural reviews and technical issue management meetings
Lead and manage 3rd party Claims vendors; their releases, application vulnerabilities and required patching.
Provide support to members of the Development and Project teams
Co-ordinate the testing of system patching with Business and IT
Manage and update the Kanban dashboards, Confluence pages and CA Unicentre
Engage with Product Owners and Development teams across the BITS spectrum
Participate and lead Cloud Risk Assessments
Participate and lead in platform upgrade discussions
Log and track decommissioning changes
Attend and participate in the IT CAB processes
Log relevant SRS’s for ISIM roles and Service Accounts
Assess Service Request changes and Incidents
Lead and monitor system incidents and closure with RCA’s. What will make you successful in this role? Relevant Tertiary IT qualification or qualification through experience
8 years minimum IT development experience
Object Oriented design and Java development experience essential
5+ years’ management of IT business application portfolios preferred
Application of IT governance principles, ITIL v4; Scrum Master certification
Experience in application development, support and release management
Experience in messaging middleware, web services, SOAP, REST, JSON, SOA, ESB, SMTP, FTP, secure FTP
Experience in systems development upper life cycle quality assurance
Project Management experience - PMBOK, Prince2 and must have experience in working in Agile Qualification and Experience Degree or Diploma with 9 to 10 years related experience.
