A dynamic company based in Pretoria is looking for a General Manager (restaurant)
Reporting to the Operations Specialist This positions primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the restaurants operational functions Will be working with the Restaurant Management Teams and Head Office Support Team The position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and procedures in the regular operations of the restaurant General Responsibilities : Set daily in store targets in accordance with Head Office store targets and forecasts Communicate targets with team and encourage results driven outcomes Actively assist in Daily Front of House and Back of House operations Ensure all training is executed in accordance with the restaurant SOP manuals Work closely with the Marketing Coordinator Identify and create new business opportunities Ensure community responsibility and that campaigns are executed at store level Ensure all systems, processes and procedures are compliant with SOP Liaise with Group POS and IT Administrator Liaise with the management team in the form of regular management meetings on all administrative goals, processes and results Constant one on one interactions with Key employees Consistently update the system requirements Update the Micros stock control lists Accurately acquiring and analysing reports Inventory control Trouble shooting inventory discrepancies Maintenance Suppliers Approvals Intelligence Cash management Trouble shooting Office and stationary controls Maintain a code of ethics as per SOP / disciplinary code Other administrative duties as required Responsibilities by Function Financial Management : Review and provide feedback on annual restaurant budgets as well as quarterly forecasts Seeks to improve Gross Profit through following all stock issuing and counting procedures, investigating and reporting on all variances, ensuring all security measures are being followed and invoices are being checked upon receipt Execute restaurant KPIs on a weekly / monthly basis and implement actions steps when required Review P&Ls monthly with Operations Specialist and management team and document Action Plans in the form of F1 Strategy to improve financial performance Work with POS and Admin Controller to ensure all Cash and Stock Systems are being adhered to Ensure procurement procedure as per SOP, including processing invoices and recon on daily financials Customer Service : Ensure a strong focus on Legendary Customer Service Work with Marketing to ensure timely follow up to all customer complaints Regular follow up on Service Evaluations to ensure service levels are consistently improved Coordinate Legendary Customer Service trainings to ensure all employees are certified within their first three months Maintains a calm exterior during times of high pressure and acts in a professional manner when confronted with tough situations and role models the same Planning and Execution : Implements company and restaurant programs by working directly Management team to execute action plans that meet operational requirements Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately to ensure effective restaurant operations.
Utilises all forms of communication (i.e. Handover Book, Communication Boards and Management and Pre-Shift Meetings) Filters relevant communication to all staff members Training and Development : Active involvement with all Training Plans for all new employees, as well as follows up on training standards for all employees Review Personal Development Plans for all management teams and ensure growth opportunities for all employees Monitors team moral and is sensitive to individuals needs (always balancing what is right for the person with what is right for the business)
Own vehicle and valid drivers license English speaking A working understanding of restaurant operations A keen understanding of KPIs, food cost, budgets and Profit and Loss reports A keen understanding of business planning and strategy and the ability to execute such planning A keen understanding of in store audits (Admin, full store and training) Ability to scrutinise stock management checks The ability to action and / or flag emails Computer Literacy : Computer literate MS Office suite A working knowledge and understanding of Magic Box
