MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent Mining / Engineering / Surveying / Quantity Surveying or other qualificationWork well on computer packages5 years planning, scheduling & execution of mining projects / tendersWorked in a production environmentHard Dollar - estimating packageBOQ (Bill of Quantities) compilationEstimating of TendersUtilising of mining programmesDeswik, Mine24D, Bentley or AutoCAD PackagesCompilation of submission documentsProject ManagementKnowledge of the Mine Health & Safety Act and RegulationsROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare analysis of projects to include : preliminary methodology, equipment selection calculations, life cycle cost, labour efficienciesVisit site and record information about the overall Mine, the conditions, management, availability of services such as water and electricity,Review labour requirements and material, to decide the most cost-effective solution.

Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesEnter team sizes and production ratesConsult with stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimatesPrepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractorsPrepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling workAssess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project developsAnalyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimatesDecide whether to price the enquiry in consultation with management by looking at tender workload and preliminary evaluationReceive tender documents from Senior Estimator and carry out preliminary evaluation by providing management with a brief summary of work involved with regard to price, special requirements, taking into consideration current and future work coming out in this areaPrepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractorsConduct post tender analysis on lost bids to ascertain whether our bid was competitive, met the Clients requirements, an alternative approach that could be usedCompile hand over documentation to the contracts teamEnsure all tender documents are stored for future referenceChair kick off meetings and follow up meetingsChair finalisation meetingsAssist sites by answering queries with regard to tender mark up and ratesAssist Site Managers and Quantity Surveyors to build up new rates for extrasPrepare estimates and budgets for negotiated work from sketches or drawingsIf you are looking for an exciting opportunity and to build a career in an innovative and dynamic organization, submit your resume by clicking on Apply Now below.
