    Xylem Water Solutions SA seeks to appoint a Warehouse Manager, to be established in Johannesburg, South Africa

  • The purpose of this position is to provide materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, warehousing, and distribution services;
  • as well as supervising staff

    Warehouse Management

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Manage the warehouse and achieve the KPIs set so as to ensure that it meets its mandate
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Inventory Management

  • Inventory Management in alignment with ERP system through
  • Implementation and monitoring of stock in order to minimize / prevent shrinkages
  • To oversee and ensure control and receipt of stock and all appropriate documentation
  • To ensure that all stock is correctly stored and retrieved
  • Realtime stock updates on the ERP system
  • To manage stock takes
  • Fleet management

  • Fleet management of the company fleet and management fleet providers
  • Coordinate with fleet providers, SANRAL and other service providers etc maintenance, insurance
  • Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining stock movement and consolidations.
  • Inbound and Outbound Shipments

  • Ensure goods receiving is done in a timeous manner
  • Maintain real time stock movements in ERP system
  • Communicate with third party logistics providers to ensure timeous shipments
  • Oversee the packaging of exports and local deliveries
  • Ensure no damage and or shortages when loading of all outgoing consignments
  • Document photographic proof when crating for freighting in accordance within procedures
  • Safety and Quality

  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring the team comply with Statutory Law, Health and Safety standards, Company Policy and the Safe Operation of Machine and Handling Equipment
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
  • Other Responsibilities

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal network.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 to 5 years experience in Middle Management and / or Warehousing Management
  • Tertiary qualification in Warehousing / Purchasing / Procurement or equivalent
  • Must have own car and drivers’ licence (Code 10)
  • Sound knowledge in a Warehousing environment.
  • Experience using Scala or SAP
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft package, Internet)
  • Good people skills.
  • Self driven, ambitious and motivated.
  • Be 100% focused on customer service.
