Internal communications (IC) at Aggreko Africa is all about promoting effective communications among people within an organization.

It involves producing and delivering messages and campaigns on behalf of stakeholders and departments, as well as facilitating a dialogue with the people who make up the organization.

It is not only about creating the communications also about understanding the needs of our employees, hearing their voice and making sure that we find the best ways or new ways of implementing these communication tools.

Our Africa Internal Communications specialist coordinates and assists the marketing and IC’s department’s initiatives. Working very closely with stakeholders and departments such as : HR, HSE, Commercial departments, Operations and our Head of Marketing & Internal Communications.

Specific responsibilities include handling the execution of internal communication activities, campaigns, employee incentive programs, employee Health programs, events and internal strategic partnerships over Africa.

Aggreko Africa is seeking a driven, being able to think out of the box, and thoughtful Internal Communications Specialist Africa who will report to our Head of Marketing & Internal Communications Africa.

This individual will be responsible for employee communications and content development that inform, inspire, and engage employees in Africa.

The focus will primarily be on amplifying employee relationship and internal communication efforts, executing on the internal communication plans for our big internal program launch events, support campaign planning across HR, mental health, and social impact efforts.

We’re looking for a creative thinker and strong writer who likes taking new and unconventional approaches to how we develop content and communications campaigns that are aligned with our purpose and values and will help bring our business strategies and culture to life in new and exciting ways.

The candidate is preferably bi-lingual : English and French. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years experience in a similar Internal Communications role withing an >

50 employees organization or similar role at an Agency. A large part of the job is coordinating cross-functional team efforts and assisting other team members by supporting the full marcom’s activities and content for multiple Aggreko Africa events.

There will be writing involved including developing original copy for collateral, intranet content, direct mail and print advertisements.

In addition to writing, you’ll be tasked with ensuring a consistent Aggreko brand voice across all channels and localization of global marketing materials.

Working very closely with the Head of department who will assist in the strategy to being implemented. The role will require flexibility and a looking to make a difference’ attitude.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Develop and create effective copy and material for a variety of distribution sources (intranet, internal target audience communication, executive communications, digital / social media, newsletters, etc.

  • to drive engagement in support of departmental and organizational communication goals Partner with stakeholders in HR, HSE, global communications, and a variety of corporate functions to develop thoughtful, compelling content for our associate population Assist in the development and creation of an enterprise communications dashboard to be delivered every quarter Research and collaborate with content editors, business partners and key stakeholders to develop content Maintain, update and socialize Communications content calendar Partner in the creation of enterprise communications process and plans, with a focus on global content messaging and development Own global translation process and ensure guidelines and recommendations are socialized with leaders across the enterprise Provide strategic communications guidance in support of Aggreko programs such as : Afrinnovation, Cost reduction initiatives, Employee Retention initiatives Own direct relationships with key peers and stakeholders within the organization Identify opportunities to have our employees Be Heard in new and modern ways;
  • not being afraid of trying new ways of employee interaction Manage logistics and writing for event planning and marketing collateral support Performs other duties as assigned MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS : Demonstrated effective business writing Skilled communicator with experience creating and executing on global communications strategies, content and communication best practices Thoughtful and curious writer with a passion for storytelling Ability to complete multiple assignments and meet deadlines Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Knowledge of Populu is a pro Knowledge of video and graphical editing is required Experience with Teams, Yammer and Salesforce are a plus Understanding of Microsoft Office programs is a must Understanding of social media properties Education and Experience Requirements : The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5+ years of progressive experience writing, editing, and publishing content for a variety of different audiences.

    A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Political Science, Marketing, or related discipline is strongly preferred.

    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar job role at a corporate or agency environment The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand company culture quickly and manage multiple assignments with maturity and speed.

    Fluent in English spoken and written, French spoken and written is a pro Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate Knowledge of analytical tools Desired Skills Team player, ability to coordinate international teams.

    Strong planning & coordination and communication skills. Ability to identify customer needs and translate into marketing deliverables.

    Active interest in developing Websites and B2B Internet application. Good Interpersonal Skills, Self-motivated, loyal & reliable.
