Why this role matters

The specialist nature of the area means that the Finance Business Partner’s role consists of 3 main components : Finance business partner to a sub-unit Directors within end to end P&L responsibility for contracts worth up to £100m revenue pa.

This involves providing commercial and strategic support, analysis and insight in order to help drive growth and deliver operational benefits within with business.

Reports on financial performance, including detailed variance analysis, trend analysis and interpretation of pipeline growth opportunities and ensures compliance against BTGS Accounting control framework and Sarbanes Oxley worldwide compliance.

What you'll be doing

Accountable for providing the Senior Finance Business Partner and sub-unit Director / s with sound commercial and financial analysis , guidance and challenge in order to transform the cost base of the Commercial team and enable global growth.

Accountable for defining and influencing the strategy, risk management and forecasting processes for their sub-vertical team / s within Commercial.

Including providing insight into the trends and assessingbest value of money.

Accountable for global P&L’s worth c£100m revenue pa.

As part of month end close ; Accountable for setting the framework to ensure data quality and booking accuracy (e.g. P&L entries by product, consistent use of chart of accounts, separation of one off and MRC).

Decide on accruals and deferrals in cooperation with the account team. 4) Provide guidance and approve accounting adjustments.

Review and approve flash report and high level commentary. Present month end results and variance analysis to contract team and senior management. Ensure SOX compliance.

Balance sheet. Accountable for global data accuracy in balance sheet. Regular review of balances with contract team and approval for SOX compliance.

Continuous improvement of contract balance sheet. Identify gaps in WoCa management to be addressed by contract team (payment terms, supplier terms etc.)

Forecasting. Manage and control all forecasting activities. Review and submission of global outlook, BRF forecast, waterfalls and service towers along with Global CA.

Review and submission of monthly sector R&O to centre. Present outlook and provide feedback to Contract Accountant. Help prepare the BRF presentation deck.

Discuss and validate assumptions (new business, PPP,demand / TLR forecast with service lines etc.). Ensure that cost initiatives and risks are properly reflected in the forecast, challenge mitigation plan.

Performance Improvement. Proactively work with account team to identify and improve cost reduction initiatives and risk mitigation.

Improve understanding and impact of financial reporting on performance for the commercial team.

Compliance & Audit. Ensure compliance against BTGS Accounting control framework and SOX compliance worldwide. Review and sign off of allcompliance checklists and activities

This role will have ongoing interaction with wider business and finance teams. Steward, lead and partner with the businesse.

Prefferd fully Qualified Accountant with significant BT and / or external experience in Big 4 / industry but can be a partly Qualified accountant

Ability to work within a virtual team

Demonstrable, successful business partnering experience owning relationships at a senior level both internally to Director level (-1)as well as externally with customer procurement and AP teams

  • Minimum experience of wide range of financial disciplines
  • Preffered fully qualified accountant but can be a partly qualified accountant.

    Strong communicator with the ability to present ideas and influence to senior managers and customers.
