Key Performance Areas : Compilation of operational plans for the Inspectorate in line with strategic objectives of the Authority Managing the expenditure of the inspectorate unit in conjunction with regional Managers Liase with Prosecutors in respect of any dockets returned to inspectors for further investigation corrections and monitor progress in respect thereof Monitoring quantity of dockets submitted by each Inspector on a regular basis and addressing poor performance Conducting investigations and inspections of complaints and illegal practices with regards to improper conduct of security service providers Conduct routine inspections at security service providers to ensure compliance in terms of the Act and Regulations.
Testify in improper conduct enquiries against security service providers contravening the Code of Conduct Regulations Address telephonic and written enquiries in respect of the Act and Regulations as well as enquiries following on from inspections and investigations Serving of improper conduct charge sheet and summons Serving of improper conduct confirmation and collection of fines imposed Liase with the Authority Account Administrators and the collection of annual fees outstanding Act as a peace officer Act as a Commissioner of oath Supervision of Inspectors to ensure proper regulation Effective control over regulatory performance in area of responsibility including proper planning of regulatory focus to ensure minimum Authority financial and other resources are used to achieve objectives Identify training needs of Inspectors and address shortcomings Identify and arranging of Industry and stakeholder workshops Review inspections and investigations undertaken by inspectors are updated accordingly on the database Review and check financial claims of inspectors and make recommendation in respect thereof performance management reviews.
Job Requirements :
National Diploma or Degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation or Policing / Security and Risk Management A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in criminal investigation environment as an Investigator of which at least three years should be in supervisory level Valid driver’s licence with 2 years’ experience in driving.
Ideal candidates are expected to have their own reliable vehicle Training in Detective Learning programme will be an added advantage (DLP) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and applicable knowledge and experience on the Job may be considered during the selection process
