Job Description :

This job encompasses the effective end-to-end administration of the maintenance of data. Ensure that all SLA targets and measures are met, comply with all governance requirements, participation and encouragement of continuous improvement with a change agent mentality.

In addition, the position will investigate and close any escalated issues stemming from stakeholders and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved to the appropriate level.

Contribute toward building strong relationships and adding value through optimal customer service.

The purpose of the role will be to contribute towards accurate and timeous processing of data that will ensure all employees are paid correctly and on time.

Your key responsibilities will include :

This role will be responsible for end-to-end processing of payroll data whilst ensuring all service level agreement targets adhered to.

The Payroll Administrator needs to ensure that all tasks are done within the parameters of the GSS policies and comply legislatively whilst meeting all business objectives, this includes :

  • Timely & accurate capturing of payroll input data
  • Liaise with customers and third parties on payroll queries within 48 hours and provide regular feedback to clients
  • Net pay comparison checking & payslip checking
  • Understanding of payroll calculations and able to do payslip interpretations
  • Familiarise with Client’s policy and procedures
  • Audits and self-audit conducted on SAP data vs source documents
  • Extract and submit the earnings report for Rand Mutual Assurance
  • Knowledge of payroll related legislation which includes the BCEA, Tax Act, Medical Aid and Pension fund regulations
  • Conduct affordability checks for the SARS IT88 deductions
  • Compliance to all internal controls
  • Controls to be accurately and timely executed
  • Assist in internal and external audit process
  • Drive adherence to safety
  • This role is at a Band 8 level reporting to the Payroll Supervisor

    Qualifications :

    Qualifications required :

  • Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
  • Payroll or HR qualification (will be advantageous)
  • Experience required :

  • 2-4 years working in payroll and / or HR field
  • Knowledge of SAP system (essential) (SAP 409 and SAP Fusion)
  • Knowledge of Document Management Systems
  • Understanding of payroll reconciliation
  • Attention to detail & deadlines
  • Microsoft Office experience with excellent Excel skills
