We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, confident, pro-active and meticulous Procurement Manager in Cape Town. You must have a relevant tertiary procurement / supply chain qualification and 6 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry, of which at least 2 have been senior or management role.
Experience with tendering and tender procedures, analysing cost variances and negotiating contracts. Knowledge of SAP systems required.
This is a BBBEE role.Responsibilities
Plan, manage and coordinate the Procurement Team to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
Ensure that the company secures the best product and services at the best price, terms and quality.
Conducts internal cost analysis in order to trend and recommend actions relating to procurement and inventory management decisions.
Ensure the procurement protocols are objectively upheld and consistently managed by all stakeholders within the company.
Maintain and update the procurement strategy of the company & ensure successful delivery thereof.
Maintain detailed awareness of current & emerging best procurement practices and ensure all policies & procedures are aligned.
Manage non-compliance and non-adherence to procurement policies
Obtain performance data to monitor & evaluate key suppliers, contractors & service providers.
Realize & quantify cost savings together with supplier performance & improved terms and quality of service.
Develop, maintain & monitor performance indicators relating to efficiency & effectiveness of the company’s procurement function & to recommend improvements.
Ensure adherence to customs & clearance procedures.
Improving relationships with the purchasing agents from our current suppliers.
Ensure all policies & procedures with regards to procurement is updated regularly & communicated to team members.
Annual price negotiations & effective inventory management.
Deal with big tenders for procurement of large assets that run in line with World Bank procurement procedures.
Run small tenders for manufacturing items to secure economically advantageous terms.
Provide contractual input for all purchasing & also conduct overhead efficiency variance analysis
Analyse manufacturing operations and variances such as price vs usage variances.
Responsible for providing timely and insightful information & analysis to foster a proactive approach to managing the cost of production.
Liaise with budget holders to deliver cost reductions, quality improvements or security of supply outcomes.
Participate in the evaluation of capital projects to identify savings opportunities.
Lead contract negotiations with current and prospective suppliers in conjunction with technical teams and
Prepare & maintain all procurement contracts and related templates.
Manage all service level agreements to support operational requirements.
Tracking & managing of contract renewals and advise business on renewal terms.
Support the businesses overall transformation objectives and development of strategy and leading the implementation of procurement objectives, including Preferential procurement, Enterprise development, Supplier development and supporting localisation of products.
Ensure achievement of BBBEE target scores set by the transformation committee through transformation objectives.
Identification and implementation of appropriate procurement reporting metrics at managerial and business level.
Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages.
Reviewing of warranty policies for existing equipment and support business in the event of warranty claimsThe company offers very competitive salaries.
