Ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree along 5 years’ experience in the field of business development or sales and 3 5 years’ experience in delivering industry type services.

Good knowledge of local legislation and regulations and have good networks in different market sectors. Contract & tender sourcing process experience.

Drivers licence, own car and available and willing to travel. Position details : Type : Permanent Reports to : Commodities Director Primary purpose : Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for Inspection Services, based on Industry sales target Job description / core competencies : Identify business opportunities across South Africa and neighbouring countries Establish and maintain efficient business development and sales in South Africa and neighbouring countries Present Inspection Services to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, telephone calls and emails likely to spend 80% time out of office, interacting with clients.

Preparing offers and negotiating M&M related contracts across the country Liaising with operations to ensure successful completion of appointments Careful planning, costing and review of each job using an AD50 format Liaising closely with clients to ensure understanding of requirement and seeing out the successful completion of each job Generate and issue Certificates and Reports to clients when applicable Manage and mitigate risks that may arise for any claim Management of the contracts, equipment and sample movements Liaising closely with Global Service Line (GSL) to ensure work is performed according to Technical Governance and safety Guidelines Propose innovative working techniques towards improvement In addition to the duties outlined above, the employee shall perform all reasonable tasks assigned to him / her and will be required to meet other expectations in the ordinary course of doing his / her work which his / her line manager considers necessary or proper for the interest of the employer Record opportunities and sales activities by reporting it on the sales tools provided.

Ensure that the sales enquiry process is conducted in a timely manner that meets internal procedures and customer satisfaction.

Support incoming enquiries, co-ordinate client meetings and contract preparation. Prepare scope of work and pricing for quotations.

Manage the timely production of contracts and progress their status with the business unit. Support job closeout processes and implement ongoing client contact strategies.

Gather and analyze commercial information as to build market intelligence. Share information from client visits with Business Unit Manager.

Create new business leads and organize follow-up activities. Present business cases to clients, especially the outsourcing model of value addition.

Identify cross selling opportunities for the different business lines. Implement commercial strategy as per Industry Director and BU Manager’s requirements.

Regularly liaise with Regional Business Development manager to ensure strategic alignment with overall business development effort.

Oversee the development and maintenance of marketing materials. Must reach growth targets as agreed with Industry Director and BU Manager.

Maintain existing client base. Build and maintain good client as well as business manager relationships. Accurate and timeous reporting of business development and sales activities.

Production of quality and timeous quotations and tenders. Planning and scheduling of client visits and follow-up meetings.

Tech degree would be an advantage 3 5 years’ experience in delivering industry type services. 5 years’ experience in the field of business development or sales.

Ideally Metals & Minerals experience Strategy, Business Development, Market Analysis Tender and proposal experience Understanding of the trade supply chain Able to communicate clearly and effectively Maintain a presentable and professional self-image Interpersonal skills Strong negotiating skills Able to work well under pressure Good knowledge of local legislation and regulations.

Have good networks in different market sectors. Contract & tender sourcing process experience. Available and willing to travel Key Skills and Attributes Must be target driven.

Have PC skills. Able to deliver work using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication skills. Very good listening skills.

Presentation and negotiating skills. Fluent written and spoken English. Proven sales track record. Ability to analyse market intelligence.

A Team player and easy to get along with. Customer service orientated. Must demonstrate initiative, integrity and exercise confidentiality.

Pragmatic and entrepreneurial approach, hard worker and continuous learner. Should be a Go to Market’ attitude person with the ability to connect people, client contacts at higher level and should be able to convert contacts into business.
