The Solutions Consultant is an expert in advising, architecting and overseeing the implementation of best-practice solutions in SharePoint, Office 365, Microsoft Teams and related technologies.
The role is additionally responsible for the architecture and deployment of large scale, enterprise-wide SharePoint solutions.
Set strategy and vision for client projects.
Ensure proposed solution meets or exceeds client objectives within budget and time constraints.
Provide and create designs and direction to new and existing clients.
To learn, adopt and promote Microsoft technology.
Overall ownership of client solution throughout the lifecycle of the project
Duties and responsibilities :
Produce outline concept for client project (to include business strategy, objectives, and overall solution design).
Ownership of solution backlog with guidance for implementation.
Build design artefacts such as Wireframes and Process maps
Evaluate and undertake impact analysis on major design options and assess and manage associated risks.
Ensure that the solution design is influenced by licensing, infrastructural, QA, technical and other platform constraints.
Recommend best practice in solution development, information architecture and design influenced by user requirements.
Maintain awareness of the Content and Cloud team capability and offerings; in particular integrated / managed services.
Advise on the development of the solution, monitoring and managing consistency against the original solution design.
Providing sizing estimates for delivery of components.
Work closely with the business development team to ensure that customers are assisted and advised properly.
Ensure that reliable cost, effort and risk estimates are produced.
Provide technical content for bids and sales proposals.
Help with the continuous improvement of sales support activities.
Able to lead formal workshops on implementation strategy and information architecture using appropriate techniques.
Work with and support project managers to ensure that budget and technical risks are managed appropriately.
Investigate requirements, problems and opportunities and propose effective solutions.
Lead the analysis of UX data related to business requirements identifying options for consideration.
Provide expertise and support on use of 3rd party tools.
Maintain knowledge of specific technical specialisations (e.g. business intelligence, workflow, social collaboration etc.
and provide expert advice regarding their application.
Working with the other solution architects to continually improve processes and create reusable collateral for project delivery.
Specific capabilities required
Experience of 3-4 projects working with SharePoint (particularly 2016, 2019 and SharePoint Online) along with demonstrable project experience running workshops and consulting directly with clients.
Solid experience working with the Microsoft product stack.
Experience of delivering SharePoint solutions as a developer, technical lead, and / or consultant. Able to cite several full lifecycle projects with different organisations.
Hand’s on experience working with Office 365 (SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate and Yammer).
Understanding of PowerShell
Experience working in a services or consulting organisation / practice.
Experience support future sales, proposal writing and identifying additional opportunities within current clients.
Microsoft Certifications (For example MS-900)
