Civil Engineer (Civil Infrastructure) - Cape Town Description About the Position The successful candidate will be required to do Project preparations such as : Investigate Sites to work out the most suitable foundation for a proposed construction.
Research and advise on the best engineering solutions to meet with client needs and budget. Operate computer software to assist with the design of civil engineering projects.
Analyse risks associated with civil works and design structures and services to meet appropriate standards. Produce detailed designs and documentation for the construction and implementation of civil engineering projects.
Project preparation, project implementation, project evaluation and reporting. Tendering and Financial / cost management.
Minimum Requirements B.Eng Civil / BSc Civil Eng Degree, Postgraduate Qualification advantageous Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer Minimum 8 years relevant experience with a proven record in the civil and infrastructure environment with Municipal and / or Governmental projects Proficiency in MSOffice Suite, AutoCAD, Civil Designer, Civil 3D.
Must be available to start immediately but a successful candidate who needs to serve their notice period will be given provision to do so.
Knowledge of current design and drawings standards for civil infrastructure Previous management experience advantageous Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Highly Computer Literate Understanding of Construction Industry Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent project changes.

Provide advice on design issues related to technical guidelines. Develop design solutions using analytical techniques. Ensure designs are accurate and adhere to Industry Standards.
Liaise with Clients, other consultants and third parties to achieve uniformity of work. Keep fellow team members and project managers informed of workload and deadlines.
Inspect or visit sites to ensure quality of work. Produce quality reports when relevant such as site inspection reports.
Learn and develop engineering skills. Keep track of the financial performance of allocated work. Archive project work, incoming information and outgoing information.
Attend and participate in meetings and training as requested. Assist with additional duties as requested.
