Vacancy Details Employer : FocusStar Merchant has an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Stock Controller - Fixed Assets to be based in Cape Town, Western Cape.
The incumbent will be responsible for the physical tagging of fixed assets New and Second Hand in strict accordance with the Fixed Asset Point of Reference.
Responsible for the process of picking 2nd hand stock accurately as per the Asset Transfer Form or any other relevant documentation.
Responsible for updating bin cards correctly according to stock received and stock picked to ensure minimum variances. Ensure achievement of company's strategic objectives, goal plans and targets.
Comply with all policies and procedures and strict adherence to internal controls. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is done accurately and timeously and contains appropriate content to enable effective decision making.
Minimum requirements : Valid driver-s licence.Competent in MS Office products.Responsibilities : Fixed Assets : Complete, diligent and neat application of physical asset tags to physical fixed assets new and second hand for the Group / s.
Ensure that the fixed asset with the correct serial number is tagged.Compliance with the fixed asset point of reference document with regards to the placement of physical tags and associated rules with the overall fixed asset tagging process.
Control the movement of fixed assets in and out of the warehouse including the movement of fixed assets to the IT department and Repairs / Maintenance department.
Routine follow up of fixed assets that have been dispatched to the IT department and Repairs / Maintenance department for which has not yet been returned.
Timeous escalation of long outstanding assets that have not yet been returned by the IT department and Repairs / Maintenance department.
Ensure fixed assets are appropriately scanned in and out of stock and that the actual assets can be accounted for at all times.
Review the daily dashboard to ensure fixed assets that have been dispatched are eventually scanned in at the destination point.
Ensure that all fixed assets returned to second hand warehouse are supported by a signed upliftment form.Liaise with the Fixed Asset Accountant to ensure that all received upliftment forms are communicated so that the Fixed Asset Accountant can process the necessary transfers between branches / companies.
All fixed assets that are dispatched must be supported by a signed dispatch form that is signed by yourself and the team member taking the fixed asset.
Ensure that old and unusable assets are disposed in line with the internal disposal approval processOnce the impairment / write-off the fixed asset is provided by the Fixed Asset Accountant ensure that the Impairment / Write - Off form is signed by the Fixed Asset Account, Warehouse Manager, Internal Audit and yourself.
All fixed assets that are disposed-off must be supported by the Fixed Asset Disposal Form that is signed by the Fixed Asset Accountant, Warehouse Manager, Internal Audit and yourself.
Ensure that access to the second warehouse is restricted and not left open.Ensure that no theft or abuse of fixed assets takes place.
Ensure that monthly physical fixed asset counts are conducted and that all variances are resolved in the warehouse of fixed assets if needed.
Timeous recommendation to the Fixed Asset Accountant on whether fixed assets should be disposed.Important Company support to the Fixed Asset Team as and when required.
Execute Ad hoc projects and task as and when required.No fixed asset is to be accepted if IT is not supported by a signed upliftment form.
When this happens, this must be reported to the Warehouse Manager and Fixed Asset Accountant immediately. Ensure that the fixed assets are stillsho wever safeguarded and kept aside.
Second Hand Stock : Pack 2nd hand stock in the designated areas once they are received and documented by the Senior Returned Stock Clerk.
Make sure items correspond to the Upliftment Note received from the Branch Managers and that the upliftment note has been signed.
Accurate picking of stock as per the Asset Transfer Form completed by the Senior Returned Stock Clerk.Verify second check fellow assistant has picked the correct items & quantity, should you be required to work in the dispatch area.
Update Stock Cards Bin Cards correctly as per the quantity of item issued or received & timeously. These should be done neatly and must be legible.
Notify the Line Manager of all shortages or any other variance immediately.When required to assist in receiving of 2nd hand stock ensure quality, quantity and all information on the document from the Branch Manager is correct.
Assist with regular stock counts and ensure this is done accurately and timeously.Ensure warehouses and working areas are in a clean state by COB each day.
