A senior Java developer is an experienced information technology professional who has developed software for several years.

This type of developer can create as well as support both front and back-end applications that utilize large amounts of data.

A senior Java developer should also have experience in leading a development team through a complete development lifecycle.

Individuals who work well in a collaborative environment and pay meticulous attention to detail tend to excel in the position of Professional Senior Java Developer.

A Professional Senior Java Backend Developer, that can also lead a team of 3 or 4 junior and intermediate Java Backend Developers.

Major responsibilities : 1.New development and maintenance of web-based backend systems. 2.Database design and maintenance.

3.Team leader (assisting team of junior and intermediate developers). 4.Analyse the business requirements (received from the Business Analyst) and translate into workable solutions.

5.Follow best practices and coding standards to produce efficient code and contribute to the knowledge base / documentation on Confluence.

6.Assist Frontend developers with logical workflows 7.Maintain and migrate legacy systems to newly developed backend systems

A Bachelors degree or three-year National Diploma is preferred.

A Professional certification in a relevant field from an accredited intuition plus previous experience as a software developer will be considered.

Will consider candidate with past solid technical experience as a backend developer, with database experience.

Experience in Java, SOAP / Rest Services, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, Linux Server Management, working in a source-controlled environment (BitBucket preferred), knowledge of the complete SDLC.

Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.

Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making.

Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.

Experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles.

Experience with both agile and waterfall methodologies (hybrid)

High-performance, high-demand, technical and multi-disciplinary environment, with software development as the main business activity.

Consulting vision and mission of the company requires employees to have the ability to work in both a technical environment (software development), as well as with the human (clients) element.

The position is office-based (9 hours work-day, including an hours lunch). *Remote work is not an option.*
