A company in Johannesburg is looking for a suitably experienced and qualified
LEGAL COMPLIANCE MANAGER.
The main purpose of the role is to oversee the Group compliance and legal function. This position would be ideal for an Admitted Attorney who has wellrounded corporate commercial experience and good knowledge of compliance risk management.
Qualifications and Experience
LLB or similar qualification
Compliance risk management qualification or experience will be beneficial
Minimum of 2 years post admission experience or legal and compliance experience
Sound knowledge of Company Law i.e. The Competition Act, Companies Act, global data protection and antibribery and anticorruption laws, general legislation and legal processes
Good communication written and verbal, networking and influencing skills
Discretion when handling confidential information
Conducting audits efficiently and effectively in accordance with the audit plan to identify and report significant legal control weaknesses within the Group.
This includes audit planning, preparation, execution and reporting.
Identifying, recommending and implementing operational improvements to legal and compliance review processes.
Identifying emerging compliance trends, including related regulatory and policy issues that may impact on the Groups business, make recommendations and devise an engagement strategy
Prioritize and analyze laws and regulations applicable to the Group companies.
Drafting and vetting of legal agreements.
Reviewing contracts before inception and renewal in order to ensure their legal accuracy.
Effectively deal with both written and verbal correspondence that have a legal bearing on the Company.
Litigation and advisory.
Salary package is negotiable up to R 720 000 per annum, cost to company.
