The Senior Human Resources (HR) Director forms part of a HR Leadership organisation and operates at a global, regional or local level and is one of the most senior HR professionals for an operational entity in a specific geography.
They may be required to co-ordinate the HR activities between different business units globally, within a region or locally.
The Senior HR Director takes the responsibility for managing the human resources organisation across different business units globally, in the region or locally.
Their primary objective is to work closely with the relevant human resources leadership, strategists and decision makers to compile a human resources strategy that will deliver the strategic objectives as outlined in the global, regional or local organisational strategy.
They ensure the ongoing implementation of global policies and the introduction of policies to ensure global, regional or local compliance.
The Senior HR Director collaborates with the Legal department to ensure legal compliance and relevance of employment contracts.
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
They are responsible for pipeline management and accurate people forecasting and resourcing in line with the strategic workforce planning model and processes.
They ensure the deployment of global, regional or local recruitment processes and monitor compliance to these to ensure the acquisition of appropriate talent.
They take responsibility for the optimal use of internal and direct recruitment methods. They ensure due diligence and manage change around all acquisitions.
Reward and Recognition
Senior HR Directors work closely with the Remuneration team and train managers on the process of remuneration governance in the business.
They introduce the Total Reward concept to key managers in the business. They evaluate and review the implementation of the salary increase and bonus processes and make suggestions for improvement where applicable.
They implement the various remuneration related processes, ensuring that all employees are aware of these processes. Senior HR Directors drive the implementation of the Excellence Program and ensure that nominations and awards are adjudicated.
Learning and Development
The training and development of managers on the Dimension Data leadership brand and ensuring implementation thereof is part of the responsibility in this role.
They assist managers with the career development process and ensure adherence to the process. They also ensure that employees reporting to them are engaged and understand their career opportunities, by taking responsibility for the training and development of their team members.
They ensure that training and development strategies are in line with business objectives.
In consultation with the HR organisation and the business strategy, they develop and manage the human resources budget and apply for the relevant rebates in line with legislation.
They compile monthly reports and HR metrics and discuss these with the management team at monthly meetings. They co-ordinate the HR events calendar and ensure implementation thereof.
The Senior HR Director is responsible for global, regional or local employee engagement. They are responsible for the marketing of the Dimension Data employee value proposition, with employees and externally.
When required they drive the co-ordination and implementation of the employee satisfaction and best company to work for surveys.
They collate and provide feedback to management teams regarding the results of such surveys and other trends and assist with the development of strategies to continuously improve the employee experience.
They drive the organisational culture by sharing best practices, developing and sustaining cross functional relationships and filtering information downwards.
Leading team of Senior HR managers, they manage performance to ensure strategy execution. They are responsible for the co-
ordination of the activities of their HR teams, setting and measuring performance targets. They ensure the disciplined execution of the Performance Management process and the cascading of key performance indicators to align these to business strategy.
They provide ongoing training and education to managers on process and proactively assist them in managing poor performers.
As a Manager of the HR team, they are responsible for operational management of the team, creating and executing on plans and reporting on the team activities in the required forums.
Working closely with the HR organisation, they oversee the management of the human resource information systems and necessary reports for critical analyses of the relevant HR function and the people resources.
They are effective listeners and problem solve people issues, thereby gaining credibility throughout the organisation with management and employees.
They are visionary leaders and they demonstrate the ability to interface and maintain effective working relationships with all departments.
Senior HR Directors maintain integrity and act as role models and advisors, building a cohesive team.
