Our client who is a leading international audit, tax and advisory firm is looking for a Senior IFRS Manager in Cape Town to assist the National IFRS team in their responsibilities, which include providing IFRS advice, Annual Financial Statement reviews, consultations and training.

  • Candidate will be based in the Cape Town office, while also providing support to the Gauteng and other South African offices;
  • as well as travel between Johannesburg and Cape Town will be required. A financial services background and experience is beneficial.

    Key duties and responsibilities : Provide IFRS consultation and support Develop IFRS training material and facilitate training Develop tools and guides Research new developments and updates within the IFRS technical field and feed back to group for consideration Review Financial Statements for IFRS compliance, identifying IFRS problem areas recommending solutions and clearing and sign-off of permitted role review performed Drafting of technical articles to be published internally or externally Facilitation of training events, both internally and externally Coaching junior team members in areas of IFRS skillCandidate requirements : CA (SA) qualification Previous exposure and minimum 5 years IFRS experience post articles Financial services experience is beneficial Good understanding of IFRS for SMEs Good understanding of the Companies Act disclosure requirements Good level of knowledge of JSE Listing Requirements Good level of knowledge of Corporate Governance requirements (King IV) Good level of knowledge of integrated reporting requirements.

    Confident and decisive, including strong communication skills Pro-active Adheres to principles and values Ability to work in teams, including coaching junior team members, as well as working in isolation Able to gather information and research problems Good presentation and facilitation skills including ability to answer questions Applies professional / specialist / technical expertise Good writing and reporting skills Review of junior team members work and providing feedback on work performance Able to cope with pressures and setbacksSalary : R R per annum
