Responsible for establishing, developing and performing of demand and supply activities. The involvement, application and enforcement of procurement policy and industry best practices and good corporate governance.

Analyze and report on supply chain performance whilst seeking areas to continuously improve and optimize. To be a business advisor and facilitator to ensure overall company targets are delivered on.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify Grocery, Liquor, Perishables, GMD suppliers to be centralized as per budgeted volume
  • Calculate Cost to Serve models per suppliers
  • Negotiate distribution allowance with suppliers as per budgeted income and based on cost to serve
  • Agree swell allowances with suppliers to cover the cost of past returns
  • Determine unit of trade (unit per case) to satisfy Logistics practical requirements while satisfying store ordering and quality control requirements
  • Ensure centralisation critical path process is followed for each supplier when centralising them (Commercial terms (Distribution allowance & swell;
  • Planning and Technical requirements; Data alignment; Initial order set up; Go-live communications (stores, etc.); Post go-live support)

  • Interact with data teams to ensure that the master data is correct
  • Track distribution and swell allowances
  • Manual billing of distribution allowances where applicable
  • Identify opportunities and conduct annual supplier allowance rate negotiations
  • Understand national Logistics network to understand limitations and opportunities for centralization
  • Identification and implementation of collaboration opportunities with suppliers across value chain
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Development Suppliers to enable them to utilize centralisation network and making their products available nationally
  • Provide assistance to or manage various projects, tasks and initiatives where they impact on Supply Chain Centralisation or Supplier Income
  • Requirements :

  • Strictly BCom Honours Degree (Supply Chain / Logistics)
  • 2-3 years working experience within a Retail environment
  • Advanced Excel
  • Affinity for Operations Research, Analytics and Mathematics
