Description We're an established commercial kitchen in Salt River, Cape Town and we need the services of an experienced, all-rounder Junior Chef to join our energetic team.
You will work under the guidance and supervision of our Head Chef. You are enthusiastic and motivated to think a few steps ahead in order to execute your tasks with accuracy and speed.
You are knowledgeable, attentive and you use your initiative to accomplish the tasks at hand in a jiffy. Requirements : Hospitality & Catering Certificate.
Food preparation. Food health and safety knowledge. Minimum of 3 years work experience in a busy kitchen. Sober habits. No criminal record.
Contactable recent references. Reliable transport to and from work. Very neat and well presented. Working knowledge in Outlook, Word, Excel.
Skills : Food preparation. Cooking, grilling, baking, hot and cold sections. Plating and presentation. Kitchen cleaning and maintenance.
Follow all food health and safety requirements. Excellent time management. Follow Standard Operating Procedures. Grasp instructions quickly and execute with precision.
Able to work as part of a small, highly efficient team. Be hands-on and versatile in playing various roles, doing all manner of tasks related to the job.
Great people skills. Advantageous : Some FOH / retail experience. Drivers license. Own vehicle. Remuneration : R 22.00 per hour, paid weekly.
Hours : 40 to 45 hours per week, Mondays to Saturdays. Occasional overtime, including emergency overtime at short notice.
