Position Description :

The Omni-Channel Operations team is recruiting for an Application Support Specialist. If you are a customer service orientated individual with experience in supporting a point of sale and store systems, then join our drive to develop world-class IT solutions.

Your responsibilities will be to :

  • 3rd line store systems support with technical investigation and resolution
  • Collaboration with development teams to implement DevOps initiatives
  • Investigations using MS SQL, Message Queue and Windows Services
  • Improvement and troubleshooting of existing processes and data
  • Service Level Agreement compliance
  • Documentation of processes and cross skilling of team members
  • Assisting with hardware / software testing
  • Understanding and explaining business processes
  • Liaison with users, stores, other support teams and third-party development houses
  • To apply you need to have :

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Previous experience in a retailer’s store systems support environment
  • MS SQL Server proficiency as well as a working knowledge of T-SQL and SSRS
  • Working Knowledge of Windows Operating System and Server technology
  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • Familiar with ITIL and use of Incident Management tools e.g. ISM
  • Use of technical tools such as SQL Profiler, Dynatrace, SCCM
  • Some development experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A customer service orientation
  • Good communication skills
  • You should be :

  • Able to work independently, as well as within a team
  • Able to work under pressure and display initiative
  • Willing to learn and open to new experiences
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Willing to perform standby duties on a rotational basis
  • Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the

    Employment Equity Act .
