Position Description :

The Omni-Channel Operations team is recruiting for an Application Support Specialist. If you are a customer service orientated individual with experience in supporting a point of sale and store systems, then join our drive to develop world-class IT solutions.

Your responsibilities will be to :

3rd line store systems support with technical investigation and resolution

Collaboration with development teams to implement DevOps initiatives

Investigations using MS SQL, Message Queue and Windows Services

Improvement and troubleshooting of existing processes and data

Service Level Agreement compliance

Documentation of processes and cross skilling of team members

Assisting with hardware / software testing

Understanding and explaining business processes

Liaison with users, stores, other support teams and third-party development houses

To apply you need to have :

A relevant tertiary qualification

Previous experience in a retailer’s store systems support environment

MS SQL Server proficiency as well as a working knowledge of T-SQL and SSRS

Working Knowledge of Windows Operating System and Server technology

Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server

Familiar with ITIL and use of Incident Management tools e.g. ISM

Use of technical tools such as SQL Profiler, Dynatrace, SCCM

Some development experience would be advantageous

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

A customer service orientation

Good communication skills

You should be :

Able to work independently, as well as within a team

Able to work under pressure and display initiative

Willing to learn and open to new experiences

Organised and able to meet deadlines

Willing to perform standby duties on a rotational basis

Preference will be given, but not limited to, candidates from designated groups in terms of the

Employment Equity Act .
