  • Be in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification from an accredited tertiary institution
  • Be Microsoft Suite proficient and experienced in the different operating systems
  • Have relevant experience in process controllers, instrumentation, networks, and wireless and telecommunication systems
  • Have proven relevant operating experience in a production environment at the appropriate level
  • Have well developed supervisory skills and experience
  • Demonstrate sound oral and written communication skills in English
  • Have a hands-on approach and be willing to work long hours to obtain the required results
  • Have basic legal, environmental and production understanding
  • Have health and safety knowledge, hazards identification and risk management skills
  • Possess a high level of planning and organisational skills
  • Be self-motivated, safety conscious and results orientated
  • Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Have performance management and motivational skills
  • Have understanding of grievance and disciplinary procedures
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

  • Applicable experience in instrumentation, Engineering Ethernet LAN design and maintenance thereof, SCADA system design and maintenance thereof and in wireless communication networks.
  • Engineering Superintendent (Supervisor’s ) Certificate

  • Supporting and adding value to the responsible Engineering sections concerning safe operating machinery
  • Maintaining a safe and environmentally friendly and compliant working environment within the instrumentation department
  • Advising to related engineering aspects with regards to Instrumentation control maintenance
  • Installation and maintenance of field instrumentation and PLC maintenance
  • Planning projects, upgrading and repairing of compressors, refrigeration and water reticulation systems in the surface and underground environment
  • Identifying and improving on problem areas through the application of hands-on maintenance and training approach.
  • Supervision and development of staff in the instrumentation department
