The Sanlam Personal Finance (SPF) cluster is responsible for Sanlam’s retail business in South Africa. SPF provides clients across different market with a comprehensive range of appropriate and competitive financial solutions.

These include traditional life insurance risk and savings products, investment, retirement, health and fiduciary services.

Designed to facilitate long-term wealth creation, protection and niche financing, these solutions are engineered around client needs.

SPF Business Change is the internal consulting and project delivery capability of Sanlam Personal Finance that helps to transform the business by optimising the investment in, and delivery of strategic change.

  • What will you do?

    Organisations need to navigate increasingly more complex change, which in turn requires support people to work and make decisions within a world of uncertainty.

    An opportunity exists for an experienced change manager to join the Business Change team to grow our change management capacity.

    You will be allocated to one or more of our evolving business initiatives requiring change management support. We believe in creating an environment within which we support our change managers to function autonomously and to support their project and business owners in a way they deem fit to deliver value.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Strong relationships within the business and build credibility as a change manager across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • An appreciation for, and create visibility for others of, the complexity, ambiguity and interconnectedness of today’s business challenges.
  • A pro-active, results-orientated and practical mind-set with a collaborative approach which creates space for others to navigate change.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each change initiative and its impacted business areas and stakeholders, from both a technical and cultural perspective.
  • Be involved in strategic change guidance and / or tactical and operational change tasks.
  • Collaboration across multi-functional teams involved in the delivery of the change initiative.
  • Add business value.
  • Qualifications :

  • Relevant degree or diploma, preferably people-oriented (e.g. Industrial psychology)
  • Knowledge and Experience :

  • At least 5 years’ experience as a change manager on large change initiatives of which at least 2 years as the change lead
  • Financial services and specifically life insurance industry experience will be an advantage
  • Experience working with technical and management teams.
