Senior PHP Developer

Job Description

A leading IT company based in Centurion is currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior PHP Developer to join their team.

Some of your duties will include (but are not limited to :

  • Write clean, well-engineered code that complies with accepted standards
  • Understand the goals and strategy behind each project from conception through to completion
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
  • Maintaining existing codebase, to include troubleshooting bugs and adding new features
  • Write clean object-oriented PHP as well as efficient SQL
  • Preliminary testing to make sure that the sites are functioning properly
  • Write reusable code preferably using classes and libraries
  • Creating reports for management and clients
  • Technical support i.e. Backups, Servers and hardware related
  • Database Administration
  • Ad hoc duties assigned by management from time-to-time

    • Requirements :

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or diploma in Information Technology
  • 5-10+ years working experience
  • Experience in PHP, OOP, MVC, MySQL, MS-SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, HTML, CSS, XHTML, Web services (SOAP / XML), AJAX, Version Control (GIT / SVN), IIS & LINUX experience
  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle : from requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
  • Good knowledge of security and encryption
