PRODUCTION PLANNER (SCHEDULER) / MANUFACTURING PROCESS ENGINEER West Rand, Jhb PLEASE - this vacancy is NOT SUITABLE for Chemical Engineers! Manufacturing company (appliances) , looking for a Production Planner (Scheduler) / Manufacturing Process Engineer.

Objective : To create, modifies, and manages production schedules.

To monitor inventory levels, regularly provide production status updates to management, and facilitate the timely delivery of products to customers.

To closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget.

To be knowledgeable on material requirements planning and be able to manage production deadlines.

This role will report directly to the Head of OperationsProduction Planner Responsibilities : Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.

Create Jobs ensuring quality of the info in Job packs is correct i.e.

BOM, Pickslips etc.Plan & Schedule production processes - to customers requirements.Develop daily / weekly production schedules - so production deadlines are met.

Estimating the amount of labour hrs required for planned production.Promptly addressing & resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.

Coordinating production operations as per material, labour, equipment availability.Provide insight on Production Planning decision making - with appropriate calculation of available resources, and allocating the appropriate amount of work to each area.

Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs - as well as improve production processes and product quality.Effecting changes to production schedules so production deadlines are met.

Compiling Status / Performance Reports Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.

Assess / facilitate improvements - to manufacturing efficiencies and processes.

Analyse the current workflow, Map out conflicting space in these areas & propose feasible improvements through application of Lean Manufacturing Techniques.

  • Experience / SkillsDegree / BEng or equivalent in - Industrial EngineeringWorking knowledge of Manufacturing Procedures Computer literate Excel, SYSPROAttention to detail;
  • Critical Thinking; Strong Communication & Technical SkillsSalaryNegotiable with the experience
