September 13, 2019Our client, a market leading manufacturer in the plastics industry, is in need of the services of a National Sales Manager for one of their divisions.
This person based in the Western Cape will be accountable for all sales activities throughout the businesses. Responsible for control, training and direction of Key account managers as well as sales representatives.
Plans, monitors and evaluates their activities as well as promotional programs. Regularly visits key customers. Establishes market trends and aims at maximizing profits.
Interpreting supply agreements and effect pricing changes as per contract where these exists or alternatively per negotiation with other customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop / Revise Sales Strategy in line with the overall company strategy
Implement the strategy by monitoring sales targets, budgets, new business, customers and call cycles
Set and review annual sales and expense budgets
Achieve and improve upon the annual agreed sales turnover as to achieve maximum profit (individual sales versus actual sales achieved)
Complete monthly sales forecasts (versus actual sales achieved)
Continuously improve and expand the current customer base
Identify new markets and conversion opportunities
Develop and maintain a market intelligence system to ensure detailed knowledge of competitors and product trends
Monitor actual sales budgets and targets
Build and maintain good working relationship with customers to ensure understanding of their needs and business
Continuous update of price guidelines
Provide price and product information to customers and potential customers
Approve price requests which fall outside formal pricing
Management, Training & Development of staff
Maintain stock levels in accordance with current and future market trends
Monitor orders against delivery plan and ensure that delivery dates are met
Actively monitor and maintain debtors to ensure that all debt is being controlled
Monthly Sales Reports
Monitor Sales against Budget
Ensure product development and to initiate innovation in so far as it relates to the Rigid Plastic
At least 8 years’ experience in similar position
Completed postgraduate tertiary qualification in Sales and / or Marketing or other relevant qualification.
Experience in the Plastic Industry
Thorough understanding and detailed appreciation of sales metrics (GP%, Variances, Revenue, COS)
Proven sales record
Valid Driver’s license - Involves travelling - National
Computer literacy : MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Ability to work independently
Good timekeeping is essential
SALARY : Senior Management market related compensation
