Iress is seeking an bright and enthusiastic Product Specialist for our Financial Markets business in South Africa, to work with our Product Teams to deliver new features and functions for real-time, mission critical trading systems.
The Product Specialist will utilise his / her skills to ensure the smooth running of the assigned products operationally.
What you will be doing
Taking over Incidents which cannot be solved immediately by 1st Level Support with the aim to restore a failed Service as quickly as possible.
Refines product issues and provides detailed analysis on any issues.
Manages a knowledge base on the product suite and ensures best-practices are exercised when using the system.
Conducts a variety of technical tasks including analysis, testing and documentation.
Communicates product information to stakeholders.
Administers engagements between the Product Team and its different IRESS Stakeholders (log tickets, arranging hand-overs).
Drive and assist with designing product rollouts with operational teams.
Complete product expert on assigned products
Assist in new product introduction and release activities both internally and externally.
Drive knowledge transfer into Hosted Services, Service Desk and FM Implementation teams etc.
Develop documentation for product release and training.
Competently conduct training and Q&A sessions; providing accurate and complete information.
Take over Incidents which cannot be solved immediately by 1st Level Support and act as a buffer between operational teams and SCRUM teams.
Address customer issues and concerns in a timely fashion to ensure customer satisfaction.
Stay up-to-date with product knowledge, business flow, sales process and market dynamic.
Assist with the management of product development Backlog, and prioritising and adjustment of this backlog through consultation with the Business Owners, Product Owners and stakeholders
Maintain complete documentation for all product related activities.
Establish and maintain positive work relationships and work productively with support groups within the business, i.e., Support, Implementation, Operations, Account Management etc
What you will need
BCom IS / Informatics, BSc Computer Science or similar qualification.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good problem-solving and analytical abilities, with high attention to detail.
Logical & Critical thinking skills with ability to learn at a steady pace.
Eager to learn new skills and techniques.
Positive and Can-Do attitude
Excellent organizational skills, able to manage competing priorities.
Be able to work under pressure
Self-motivated, Passionate and energetic
Experience in Financial Markets with an integral understanding of trading
IT Proficiency - TCP vs. UDP, IP and Ports, Netstat, Telnet, ping, Findstr & Piping to file, Trace Processor / Scite / Notepad++ (Regex etc.) and Wireshark
Understand of FIX Protocol - Versioning, Interpreting ROE, Sender vs. Receiver and FIX Resources (Minifix, TransFIX etc.)
Database administration knowledge and experience (SQL / Basic querying, backup, restore)
Familiarity with Api’s such WebServices, SWIFT, MSMQ etc.
