Essential Criteria

3+ Years of experience with AWS

Intermediate Linux experience ubuntu / Debian

Strong Windows experience

Networking experience

Required Experience

Relevant IT qualification or experience if no formal qualification

AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or relevant experience.

Monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic)

Cloud infrastructure experience (built and managed) using AWS with the following competencies : EC2, ECS Fargate, VPC - security groups, VPN, Natting, peering, R53 DNS public / private, S3 AMI, IAM, AWS Back UP, RDS, Dynamodb, Elasticache, DMS, Directory service / AD management / DNS,API Gateway, Cloudfront.

Cloud Formation templates / CDK Knowledge

Certificate management, IIS and Linux

Experience with Azure Dev Ops, CI / CD advantageous.

Role responsibilities

Create a strategy for establishing a secure and well-managed enterprise environment in AWS

Manage stability and reliability, including dedicated root cause analysis, proactive monitoring, and long-term remediation.

Implement and analyse service metrics to drive service quality and improvements, e.g., metrics for monitoring and alerting.

Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and providing associated training as is required.

Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.

Continually evaluate service and infrastructure usage to effectively manage resources, capacity, and cost.
