Job Position : Broker Relationship Consultant (insurance)

Ref : 3702

Location : Cape Town and Durban

Salary : R380 000 per annum commensurate with experience and qualification

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • FAIS credits (minimum 30 credits in short term insurance if date of first appointment is before 2010); or if date of first appointment is on or after 01 / 01 / 2010, a full recognised qualification as per the FSCA qualification list
  • FAIS Regulatory examination for Representatives (RE5)
  • 12 CPD (continuous professional development) points
  • Minimum of 3 years'''''''' experience in selling short term insurance either as a Broker Agent or Tied Agent
  • All required regulatory exams and accreditation
  • Candidate must have his own transport (CAR) and license
  • Extensive knowledge of the short-term insurance industry
  • Thorough understanding of the short-term insurance industry and products
  • Thorough understanding of business principles
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle conflict

  • Problem solving skills
  • Risk assessment and analysis
  • Insurance principles and practice

  • Clerical and administrative procedures

  • Key Performance Areas :

  • Provide quotations for broker and intermediaries within agreed service level agreements
  • Quoting at least 100 quotes per month
  • Achieve monthly contracted financial targets
  • Grow existing Broker book and have a pro-active broker contact plan for visitations and engagements
  • Updating Brokers on developments or changes with packages / services
  • Assist Brokers with factual information to assist them in providing quotations for their prospective clients
  • Follow up on outstanding information immediately
  • Obtain completed proposal form and documentation required from the Broker or intermediary
  • Check that documentation and forms received are correct and forward to pre-gatekeeping
  • Complete daily report on quotations done and policies accepted, to monitor activity and conversion rate
  • Keep up to date and fully informed on product comparisons with opposition products
