Senior Software Engineer (Relocate to Cape Town / Scala / FinTech / Credit Services)
Our Client is a UK based financial technology company that provides credit scoring services and a marketplace where there is efficient and easy access to financial data, including credit reports and scores, and open banking data.

Requirements
2-4 years of experience as Scala Backend Developer
Experience in using a functional stack and libs such as Akka, Cats, Monix, fs2
Experience working with AWS, Kubernetes and Spinnaker to release your code to production
Experience in implementing a Quality Assistance program,
Ability to work alongside QA teams to build, test, release and monitor your work
Our delivery teams are cross-functional and you will be collaborating closely with other developers, QA, data analysts and product managers
Experience in TDD and detailed peer-reviewing
Responsibilities :
Working with the International team to optimise the products for the South African and Australian markets
Deploying your code to production, affecting millions of users globally, within your first couple of days of joining
Using your experience with Scala to write new features to attract new users and improving our client’s current features to engage existing users better
Integrating with new partners so that we can tackle underserved markets and offer their customers better deals
Influencing the direction of critical company services and building the tools that allow them to scale rapidly
Owning the backend technical function for the International company
Mentoring and developing Junior team members
Design and develop a custom application / framework to control the core platform, including the selection of the right technologies, to manage all of the Scala jobs and projects.
Collaborate with all Core Platform team members to configure jobs in the applications.
Identify areas for improvements in performance and efficiency based on metrics of the outputs.
Help to identify areas of the platform that are lacking in test coverage automatically via build tooling and lead in the development to rectify those shortcomings.
