A well-established manufacturing company requires the above to create colour matches from first principles (by eye) using suitable pigments for the application.
Minimum requirements for the role :
Previous experience having worked in a Colour Matching role within a paint or plastics or ink environment is essential.
Must be able to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, from factory floor to director level.
Previous experience using a spectrophotometer is essential.
Must be able to calculate adjustments for production batches.
Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of ERP systems.
Candidate must have excellent attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
Ensuring the colour match is suitable for the intended application requirements (price, food, light fastness, heavy metal, temperature, strength and end product use).
Using lab equipment such as scales, mixers, injection moulding machine, 2 roll mill, hot plate press, light box and film blower.
Using the Datacolor Spectrophotometer to check the accuracy of their final colour match.
Completing at least 3 tasks or colour matches per day.
Correcting of colours from production.
Assisting with quality control if there is a workload overflow.
Assisting with weighing of samples when required.
Assisting with research and development tasks when required.
