Job Description Summary :

The Fitness Attendant is responsible for assisting the guests in the Health and Fitness Club. Enhance the guest’s experience at the Citizen’s Club by providing superior guest service during check in and out of the lounges and fitness center.

Recognize and interact with the guests and residents, provide superior presentation of lounge and water service while creating an environment of relaxation and luxury.

Job Description : Responsibilities include : Prepare for shift by ensuring music is playing at appropriate level, uniform is clean and wrinkle free, nametag is on and smile is in place.

Ensure proper cleanliness and stocking of fitness area. Address guests by their name each time they are encountered. Ensure proper stocking and presentation of clean towels, washcloths, magazines, newspapers, tea and water.

Remove used towels, washcloths, robes and slippers to appropriate area for cleaning. Anticipate each guest’s needs and assist with special requests.

Perform all opening, mid shift and closing job responsibilities as noted on the fitness attendant checklists, fill out and turn in at end of every shift.

Maintain cleanliness of fitness area i.e. sweep and mop floors, squeegee showers, wipe counters and fixtures, etc. as necessary throughout the day.

Immediately advise Fitness Manager on duty if equipment is not functioning properly. Practice safe work habits and follows all safety procedures.

Follow proper protocol during evacuation. Promote a friendly, comfortable feeling while guests are in fitness area. Interact appropriately with guests whether it is conversation or a quiet presence.

Be extremely knowledgeable and able to accurately assist guests with fitness equipment questions. Attend departmental meetings and training sessions when scheduled.

Provide assistance when necessary throughout Citizen’s Club. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Fitness Manager.

Specific job knowledge, skill and ability : The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he / she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and function efficiently in high stress / pressure work environment. Experience with hospitality and customer service.

Personal Training Experience, preferred. Ability to multi-task. Professional, flexible and positive attitude. Detailed oriented.

Ability to stand continuously to perform essential job functions. Requires extending arms, bending and stooping to reach materials.

Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of guests’ needs. Must adhere to practices of occupational safety and health.
