SAP Landscape & Environment Lead South Africa
The SAP Landscape & Environment Lead is responsible for the management of the global SAP Landscapes and Environments providing technical support and leadership.
Including establishing standards and requirements, evaluating and directing enhancements, and implementing solutions to support the SAP Environment.
Designs and develops SAP maintenance requirements and specifications to ensure the system is meeting corporate needs.
The responsibilities include interacting with a third party to configure, monitor, tune, and troubleshoot the SAP Landscapes and Environments.
Provide Operational Excellence for NRF in the areas of SAP Landscape and Environment by enforcing best practices.
Team member of the global NRF GPMS IT organisation and :
Accountable for driving SAP system maintenance, and ensure these meet business requirements and service level agreements (ie Early Watch Alerts, Live Compare for consistency across systems, SAP Transport Management)
Own Environment Management Plans for GPMS Applications in scope
Participate in the Annual SAP application maintenance and upgrade plan review facilitated by the Application Management Services Partner (AMS)
Align the maintenance plan with approved outage windows
Govern SAP System Refreshes planned and delivered by AMS
Conduct regular check on the accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and all Environment documentation maintained by AMS for all SAP Environments
Liaise as required with NRF, AMS and the infrastructure partner to plan drive on-going infrastructure DR and business continuity plans
Own the GPMS IT technical maintenance roadmap
Work with NRF Support Partner, assess operational quality, identify gaps, and manage closure of gaps in SAP Interfaces and integration point, including :
Ensure effective Error Trend Analysis and Problem Management
Work in NRF GPMS IT team and provide missing technical and operational expertise for Major Incident Management and support NRF Support Partner to close their knowledge gaps
Provide support for Major Incident Management and ensure timely resolution of Major Incidents
Ensure SAP functional best practices are adhered to during Incident and Problem investigation and resolution
Provide technical feasibility and appropriateness of proposed incident & problem resolutions when alternative solutions are available
Provide capability to perform incident & problem management resolution activities as appropriate in exceptional circumstances
Provide appropriate assessment of SAP Changes in relation to the infrastructure and environment.
Perform detailed planning & project management of implementation activities for updates & patching where required
Also perform systems health audits to validate system status & report to SAP Team Lead in addition to effective Weekly Operational Review with Support Partners.

Key Outputs / Deliverables :
Immediately upon appointment, the role would be responsible for ensuring the ongoing availability and viability of the SAP landscapes and environments.
Qualification and Experience :
The role requires an individual with a solid technical background in SAP ECC.
Knowledge & Experience with managing complex / integrated SAP landscapes.
Certified SAP Consultant
Pro-active collaboration and stakeholder management will be second nature and a core strength.
Ability to influence internal departments in order to obtain co-operation;
Strong SAP support skills, ideally developed through solid experience;
Experience of working cross-culturally and cross -functionally, and ability to adapt personal style to different environments;
ITIL v3 Foundation would be an advantage
Previous experience of supporting SAP Core applications and integration tools.
Experience of working in a fast paced environment with demanding deadlines and a desire to deliver to milestones would be a distinct advantage.
Preferred knowledge of data center infrastructure to help optimize the SAP system environment, plan and co-ordinate timely delivery.
Should be able to optimize maintenance solution to close to zero downtime maintenance.
System builds and configuration.
Configure system with solution manager for Early Watch services and technical monitoring
Performance tuning, troubleshooting, go live support
Interaction with the client team and supporting the team through the implementation process
Interacting with various other teams during system build and implementation process
Technical & Specialist Knowledge :
Solid SAP Landscape and Environments support / project experience
Sybase and MS SQL experience would be beneficial
Experience and ideally certified for SAP Technology Consultanty
Experienced with the following SAP / 3rd party components : ERP 6.0 EHP 7 (ECC 6.0), BW 7.5 with BPC, PI / Process Orchestration 7.
5, Netweaver Java 7.4 with Redwood Cronacle 9.0, Solution Manager 7.1 / 7.2, GRC 10.1, Identity Manager 7.2
Experience with Fiori would also be beneficial
Will preferably have experience in installations, upgrades and potentially migrations.
UNIX / Linux experience
Experienced in Virtualised Environments
Experience with the setup, configuration and management / troubleshooting of interface / connections to non-sap environments
Security and Authorisations skills preferable.
