Senior Group Underwriter

  • Underwrite and administer a profitable portfolio of Group, Corporate & Multinational Accident, Travel & Health business within AIG’s agreed business plan and underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting authority and portfolio management of the book
  • Work closely with Head Underwriter in planning, monitoring, and correctively underwriting book for profitability and in line with underwriting authority changes and any regulations.
  • Manage and service existing renewal book and price for new business with actuarial guidance Develop and grow the channel of distribution assigned to achieve both the top and bottom line target for New Business and Renewal Business.
  • This involves building relationship with key external stakeholders

  • Collaborate closely with and build excellent business relationships with internal stakeholders and key business partners and intermediaries through regular visitations and engagement.
  • Involved in projects / regional initiatives including product development
  • Plan and conduct product training to intermediaries to grow and generate sales activities.
  • Be the referral point to Junior Underwriter and Policy Admin department to ensure correct processing of accounts and underwriting excellence
  • Any other activities and projects delegated by management
  • What we are looking for

  • Degree or Diploma in related discipline.
  • Experience in Group Accident & Health sales / business development / underwriting.
  • Excel knowledge is needed and be comfortable processing data
  • Candidates with Group Accident & Health underwriting and / or product development experience will have added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Group Accident & Health product and benefits (this is repetitive of the above)
  • Proven track record of developing new business and achieving renewal retention targets in Group Accident & Health
  • Good communication, interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, analytical and multitasking skills
