Our client in the EPCM industry is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Centurion, for a 2 year contract for an Electrical Integrity Improvement Programme.

The company relies on electrical gear and electrical safety in every terminal. To manage risks and improve reliability, it is important to ensure that electrical equipment and safety protocols meet company requirements.

Each terminal shall have : Well-maintained electric documents to define where power is distributed on the site and interactions with utilities, generators, and third parties.

well-maintained arc flash study and single line diagram in line with Shell SR.11.13122 Arc Flash Assessment Guide by Shell P&T and programs to reduce and minimize arc flash onsite through reviews, setting modifications, and risk assessed capital projectsrobust maintenance with closure actions complete to ensure key gear is maintained and reliable.

  • Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following : Arc FlashFor each terminals the scope includes the following : Compile inventory of Arc Flash Studies including, as a minimum;
  • study date,depth of study (arc energies, short circuit calculations, protective co-ordination data, load demand study, and mitigation plans),software used,software model datamitigation plan actions,study review status,study storage location,study drawings produced,maintenance plans of electrical equipment part of the study (such as MCC, switchgear etc.

    Work with the company’s Engineering and Operations staff to determine if arc flash labels exist and if the information reported is consistent with arc flash study report.

    Verify schedule of coming Arc Flash study maintenance from SAP and ensure the company has an Arc Flash risk reduction plan in place.

    Arc flash studies and software data are inventoried in HexagonFor facilities that have no current study, the Electrical Engineer shall prepare a proposal for closing the gap for the company’s approval.

  • For facilities with a current study, review with the company actions from such a study, the relevant progress and the need of any further actionLead execution of study (if approved by the company) and / or create the list of outstanding recommendations with related risk and priority ranking for the company’s review and support;
  • further studies and / or asset changes are excluded from the scope of work, they will be added to AMP and dealt accordingly withElectrical Single Line DiagramsFor each site, with support of the company’s Facility Engineer, compile inventory of single line diagrams including as a minimum : dateformat (CAD)accuracy vs Single Line Diagram DUT,drawing number and titleIn case of any gap (i.

    e. : single line diagram to be updated or created), the Electrical Engineer shall proceed developing single line diagram as per DUT.

    Single line diagram shall be stored in Hexagon and for subsequent handover to S&I services.Site Key-Switchgear, MCC and VFD Maintenance RecordsThe Electrical Engineer shall, for Key Switchgear, MCC and VFD : Verify if they exist in the Asset StructureUpdate the tagging procedureREQUIREMENTS : Relevant BEng / BSc degreeRelevant experience, and knowledge of the below : References and Mandatory StandardsArc Flash Assessment Guide by P Freeman (PTE) ST 11.
