Grindrod Integrated Logistics has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Credit Manager.
Credit Management 4 and B.Com Degree in Finance
7-10 Years’ Experience in the Freight sector with at least 5 of those years in Management.
Primary Job Purpose
To ensure that Grindrod Integrated Logistics cash flow ismaximised through effective debt collection and minimisation of risk andmaintain good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders toensure that targets are met.
Billing and Reporting
Ensure that correct billing occurs and that all discrepancies and irregularities are analysed and rectified.
Manage the billing process.
Verification of tariffs with the National Commercial Manager monthly for all Company s.
nbsp;Apply escalations according to SLA including any fuel adjustments.
Operational data to be balanced to final revenue billed monthly
Accounts receivable month end reporting to be submitted according to Group deadlines
Monitor customer performance against credit terms.
Follow-up on non-compliance - resolve through direct interaction with customers, national ops manager s and contract manager s within the same fiscal period.
Advise on action to be taken on defaulters.
Provide weekly cash flow projections.
Ensure daily sales outstanding does not exceed the agreed target days.
Involved in all aspects of the IT billing systems used in relation to revenue.
Ensure cash flow is secured by week 2 from Blue Chip clients.
Ensuring credit notes are kept to a minimum.
Interact with claims department to ensure that customer claims do not affect cash flow.
Identify delinquent debtors for black-listing and legally pursuing debt / handover to legal and subsequent follow ups.
Ensure that prospective and current customers accounts aregoverned by contract :
Receive and review application.
Review creditworthiness trade references, judgements, deeds office and director scans.
Approve applications in line with LOAs
Policy and Procedures
Ensure that the credit and billing policies are communicated to operational divisions and adhered to.
Maintain debtor's database by setting up term codes, deleting inactive customers, updating customer contact details, ensuring uniformity in customer naming conventions, linking customer accounts to account groups and confirming accuracy of beneficiary banking details.
Customer Relationship Management
Manage the query resolution process for billing, tariffs and credit notes.
Staff Management / Leadership
Effective Management of staff by :
Ensure that staff members are motivated by providing leadership & direction.
Conduct performance reviews with staff twice a year.
Undertake personal development / career action plans for incumbents reporting to you.
In consultation with national HR implement training initiatives where required to support on the job training and guidance.
Undertake Disciplinary and Grievance hearings when necessary.
Monitor staff discipline against company policy and take action when necessary.
Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
