Duties and responsibilities :

General Administration

  • Acts as personal assistant to the Director : School of Accountancy and the Programme Directors.
  • Makes travel arrangements for staff (car rental, accommodation and flight bookings).
  • Arranges printing of Business Cards for staff.
  • Financial Administration

  • Administers all financial aspects of the School (excluding Thuthuka and INTRABAS).
  • Monitors and reconciles the School’s entity’s financial records (excluding Thuthuka and INTRABAS) on a monthly basis, and reports exceptions to the Director of School.
  • Procures and manages all assets of the School.
  • Processes Adhoc Claims : Markers, Invigilators, External Moderator Claims, etc.
  • Processes Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Receipts (Purchasing and provisioning).
  • Creates Travel Expenses and Authorisations.
  • Creates Expense Reports.
  • Creates Cash Advances.
  • Processes Encumbrance Purchase Orders.
  • Prepares invoices for all sponsors, advertisers, external providers, etc. of the School (Billing).
  • Processes the payment of prize monies to top achieving students.
  • Monitors the monthly staff phone bill, and reports exceptions to the Director of School.
  • HR Administration

  • Gathers information for, and processes, contracts for markers, tutors, invigilators etc.
  • Administers the study benefit application process for staff
  • Coordinates the logistics for new staff appointments / staff terminations (i.e. in relation to office accommodation, email address, phone number etc.)
  • Inherent requirements :

  • A Bachelor’s degree or a B.Tech degree on NQF level 7 or a 3-year National Diploma on NQF level 6.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant working experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
