About you Identifying new business opportunities is something you do to pass the time while waiting for your coffee to brew.

What are we looking for? The business development assistant will report to the business development manager to help grow and develop new and existing accounts.

This requires a self-starting individual with a hands-on attitude and the desire to develop and grow. Responsibilities include : Undertake research to support the business development manager in identifying new lead opportunities.

Support business development manager in account management activity, for example, setting up supplier meetings, assisting with relevant meeting preparations, tracking supplier performance etc.

Develop & maintain knowledge of competitors, market trends and current supplier base.If directed, provide sales support on behalf of the buying team, for example handling internal sales enquiries, from enquiry through to successful conclusion.

Manage all new leads that come through via our online supplier onboarding system.Monthly reporting on supplier performance and new supplier performance.

Assist with documentation and account applications when onboarding new suppliers.Cold calling to find new business opportunities and sales leads.

Requirements / skills : Proficient MS Office skillsSelf-startingGreat multi-tasker Team player Excellent communication skills (both internally and externally)Ability to adapt and work well with different departmentsOrganised and structured Comfortable with speaking on the phoneWork well under pressureConfident Qualifications : Relevant tertiary degreePost-graduate or Honours degree advantageous Experience Previous experience in a similar role will be advantageous, but not a requirement.
